Being relatively new to the Dreamcast, i didn't have the opportunity to pick these up when they were new... does anyone have any idea how many of the pack-in demo/sampler disks came with the magazine?

Then there's the Dreamcast Generator disks... where did these come from and how many are there?

And lastly... are there any other demo/sampler's i'm unaware of?

thanks

As far as I remember, every ODM issue except the last one had a demo disk included. There were demos that came with some of the games. I know Phantasy Star Online had a packed-in Sonic Adventure 2 demo disk.

There are 2 Generators that came with the systems. The orange one came with the system until the last year or so during the life span. Then the green was was starting to be included. I noticed it a lot with the Refurbish systems. Maybe it came as early as the first Sega Sports system?

I think there were 11 Magazine Demo disks. The last issue to NOT have a demo was the Spiderman issue (instead it included a letter that they weren't supplying demos anymore) Concequently, I think this was also the last issue.

I've gotten a Demolition Racer: No Exit demo that was sent through the mail to me. I *think* this may have been since I was a subscriber, I have no idea how I would get it otherwise.

Other notables:

AT&T "demo" disc that came with the release system (not sure if any others had it)
Webbrowser V1, V2: came with system releases
Webbrowser V3: came with BBA.

To biggyback on what Achika said about the Official Dreamcast Magazine (those numbers are right BTW), one of the discs has a Christmas Toy Commander level sort of like the Christmas NiGHTS thing. Worth checking out if you dig that game, and you should. Another disc has a Combat-like game from Visual Communications. That's all I know as far as exclusive content on those discs.

There's also the Web Browser 2.62 and the "Not for Resale" versions of NBA2k1 and NFL2k1, though those aren't strictly demos.

I have a green Generator disc that I got from work, booting up now to see what's on it

ok, here's what we got:

Sonic Adventure
Tomb Raider: Last Revelation
Fur Fighters
Railroad Tycoon II
MDK2
Tony Hawk Pro Skater
Rayman 2
Dead or Alive 2

and that's it. I believe I also have an orange one around, lemme look for that one to see what's in that one.
