FYI
Anyone having trouble with stickers on their games from blockbuster. I find that Goo Gone (from stores like bed bath and beyond) works every time. I can remove any and all bockbuster stickers except the clear ones they use to cover the labels. All box stickers come off everytime and never show any wear on the box. Squirt a little on, wait about 5 minutes and peel it right off.
Just wanted to pass this on.

A hair dryer works also for removing labels and stickers I've learned.

But what about Blockbuster's CD stickers? Anything that can be used safely to do that?

You mean the disc shields? Worst idea ever... I hate those things.
I work at Blockbuster and i was so relieved to see that they finally figured out they couldnt work on the newest generation of consoles. Some of the really early games for PS2/Xbox/GC might have them, but chances are you wouldn't want that crap after going through our customers hands anyways. I swear people go out of their way to do outrageous shit to our product simply because they don't own it. No way would anyone treat something they owned like they treat our stuff.
As for getting them off, no. No matter what you try to do, it will only kill the disc. I can't tell you how many times some retard rented Madden 2002 for PS2 then came back and said the game didn't work... open up the case and half the disc's label/data was ripped up because the genius thought the disc shield would harm his system (which it can, and has), so he decided to peel it off, destroying our game before it ever got played.
If you can, avoid pre-played games from BB at all costs, we trash those things like there's no tomorrow. The only reason I'll buy them is because I get the luxury of going through every piece and picking one that seems reasonable, plus the 20% discount.

This is why I will only buy cartridges pre-played. I haven't had a beat up one yet, and I clean the hell out of them before they enter my system. They all work perfectly of course.

whats up with those stupid silver stickers that leave behind VOID or a checkerboard when you peel them off? i mean did they really think this would stop theft somehow. like some guy goes to sell rented games at funco and the clerk would be like "aha! behold the void sticker! quick call the cops!"
those things really annoy me esp. on the game label itself.

I just got 3 PS games from BB....got 2 of the labels off with "CAREFUL" peeling....and left behind a sticky adhesive mess that was removed with GooGone. One of the labels started to remove the disc's label, so I had to stop there and leave it on. Have had this type of luck with most of the disc from BB....the carts are another matter!! The Keeper :-D

The void stickers are supposed to be placed over the seams of the cartridge or the screwholes so the store can tell whether the cart has been opened and the internals switched out. I work for Blockbuster and have taken over stores that had several Super Mario 64 or Madden 64 carts that were originally something else but had been switched.
I remember working at Toys R Us back when the NES first came out. The original set of games just had Philips head screws and at the time we took back opened games, so people would buy a game, then switch out the board with an older game from home and get a refund. It's one of the reasons that TRU stopped taking back opened games.
