I'm trading Steel Battalion. A friend of mine is cleaning out his closets of games and he made me a deal. For Steel Battalion (which i can get again new for 160.00 from Amandas work) I am getting:
A Turbo Grafix with a slew of games, most notable being Military Madness Complete and The D&D game.
2 Game Com, one big and one little, with alot of games, Centipied, Frogger, and Williams Arcade Classics.
And a Complete, Amazingly maintained "The Quest for the Rings" for the Oddessey 2. And I gotta tell ya, for something made in 1968, this thing looks nice.
And he gave me a load of boxes and manuals for a lot of games I needed to complete. The others I'm taking to the CGE with the rest.
I'll post a list of the games once I get back from taking Steel Battalion to his house.
Oh and he has a complete Lynx with loads of games for it, should I try to get that off of him too?

I would also push for the Lynx. The stuff you are getting is not too amazing. The game.com sucks and the games for it are currently selling for $1 a piece on ebay, The Quest for the Rings- not sure how much this is worth, but I'm guessing not a ton, load of boxes and manuals ok if you need them. The TG16 is cool especially if you don't have one, but you can grab one on ebay with games for around $40.
So, it sounds like you are getting about $80-$90 worth of stuff for a $160 item.

Yeah, if you get hte Lynx, it would be closer to a fair deal. But going by retail selling, you're much less likely to get $160 out of the stuff you're getting (or even be able to sell it easily) than out of SB. If you can affor another copy of SB and want that stuff, it's not bad tho :D

Yeah, that stuff isn't too great. I'd see what Lynx items he as first before you finalize a trade. Quest For The Rings is only $30-$40 if complete.

Thanks for making feel like I got duped. Anyways...
heres the games.
Turbo Graphix
Miltary Madness
Sidearms (incedentally it by Capcom, so I would have had to pick it up anyways)
R-Type
Bonk Adventure
Neutopia
Psychosis
Keith Courage
Neutopia 2
Dragon Spirit
Alien Crush
Dungeon Explorer
For the Game Com I got:
Scrabble
Centipied
Duke Nukem
Monopoly
Wheel of FOurtune
The Lost World
Henry
Lights Out
Frogger
Wheel 2
Williams Arcade
Now in order to get the Lynx whcih is complete, and all the games, which are complete I had to trade him my X-box (I dont play it and only paid 73 for it, not to mention the upcoming price drop) and my 2 promo Mechwarrior: Dark Ages promo game peices, and my Outlaw Golf X-mas add on.
The game that i can remember off the top of my head are:
Stun Runner
Ms Pac-Man
Califorian Games
Block Out
Rampage
Joust
Gauntlet
Doubole Dragon
Shadow of the Beast
and that is all of the top of my head since I dont' get them till tommorrow.
But there are 5 more.
And He also gave me a Soundwave (Transformer) and either a Wood Grain 2600 or a Cart only Montazumas revenge for the Master SYstem. Should I take the cart of the 2600?

Well, you did get duped. Tell your bud that the TG16 is busted and get your stuff back. You could probably get a better deal here in the DP trade forum.

Let me get this straight, he was already getting the better of the deal and then you basically traded your X-box with games for his Lynx? All I have to say is "Wow"!!!

JEsus! You didn't get duped...Neutopia 2 is worth like $30 alone! :) The games that came with the TG16 totally evened it out IMO.

I concur. TG16 stuff is always rad.

Well I feel a little bette. And I have both Neutopia's, yea. But still, shoud I get Montazumas Revenge for the SMS or the wood grain 2600?
The X-box is not a big loss, I don't actually have any games for it (I had steel Battalion, but.....) and the Mech Warrior things were free, plus he says he'll Probably give them back once he stops playing the game.
I wouldn't do it if all the Lynx stuff wasn't boxed. But it is, he has boxes and manuals for all of it games and system.
Oh and add Dungeon and Dragon: Order of the Griffion to the TG16 list.

Yeah, the TG-16 games definitely evened everything out. Military Madness is going for about $25 nowadays. If you sold all your TG-16 games separately on ebay, they would fetch about $150 alone.
so, all in all a good deal.

Well what did you expect? You didn't do the research on pricing.
Reminds me of when someone came in here bragging about "SCORE!"ing a PS2 and GTA3 at Gamestop for full Retail.
Saying things evened out because you put in the highest ebay auction price doesn't make sense.

You definitely have a good deal considering the TG-16 games. Now you need to get Devil's Crush because it is one of the best games on the system IMO. You also need a Turbo booster if you don't have one to run the TG-16 with AV jacks. (unless it's modded).
I love my TG-16. Such an underrated system.

The first deal wasn't TOO bad if that's what you wanted, the xbox for lynx trade was BAD. Very Bad.

Okay, the Lynx stuff I got is a follows.
Lynx complete with manuals and box
Double Dragon complete
Blockout w/box, no manual
Robotron w/ manual, no box
Guantlet complete
Shadow of the Beast complete
Ms Pac-Man complete
Rampage complete
Steel Talons complete
Joust Complete
Shanghai complete
California Games cart only
Warbirds cart only
Stun Runner cart only
Gate of Zendocon cart only
And Soundwave and Montizumas Revenge for the SMS.
Most of the games are complete, and so is the lynx. The last complete Lynx that sold on Ebay was for about 120 with some common games.
I have a complete one with a lot of un common games that are mostly complete. I don't think it was a bad deal. I don't really miss the Mech Warrior peices. The Outlaw Golf X-mas demo is still easy to get for 5 bucks.
And once the price of the X-box goes down again, I sohuld be able to get a new one for 100 or less easly. I have always wanted a Lynx, and have a complete one makes it that much better.

Terrible deal. If you don't want people to tell you it was terrible, don't ask "was it worth it?" The Game.com stuff is just worthless. You got some good Turbografx games for playing, for sure, but not for collecting. Lynx values I'm not to sure on...but I know they're practically giving away Lynx games on ebay. And these games are only going to get less valuable, while Steel Battalion is a great investment.
Did he tell you Quest for the Rings was made in 1968? You're getting smoked, dude. SMOKED.

yeah does seem like a pretty foolish trade, but as long as you play the stuff you got more than what you gave away it isnt too bad, but definitely a rip off from a value standpoint.

My mistake, I misread the copywrite on The Quest for the Rings.

I guess you had no interest in the forthcoming multiplayer on-line sequel to Steel Battalion?
