View Full Version : Sega should've made more Make My Video titles!

So a few days ago, Youtube user SpoonyOne (http://www.youtube.com/user/SpoonyOne) added three new videos to his FMV Hell series. The videos dealt with the Sega CD Make My Video series.
You can probably see where that's going.
Anyway.
Over at the semi-official Information Society Livejournal community, a bunch of us just sorta started a bunch of jokey posts with reimagined cover art for Information Society albums... and this popped out of my head.

I believe "Copperplate Bold" or one of the other Copperplate Fonts is the one used for the SEGA CD or is pretty damn close.

I keep hearing that they were very close to a deal with Pearl Jam. That just strikes me as odd, considering they swore off regular music videos after "Jeremy" (yeah they made another one eventually, in 1998).
But I think we can all agree that the four Make My Video games that came out (I'm counting Power Factory) are four too many.

Especially these three vids, because I remember getting a sega cd back in the day with some games - including the MMV games. And his reactions are pretty much dead on for lil' AB circa age 12.
God damn those titles suck.

Make My Video: Vanilla Ice (Ice baby) with bonus unlockable video of Vanilla explaining how the sample in his song sounds nothing like "Under Pressure".

I know I'm probably in like a less than 1% minority, but I actually liked Power Factory and Marky Mark: Make My Video when I was a little kid.
But looking back I can see that they sucked. But they should've made "Red Hot Chili Peppers: Make My Video".
The C&C one is comedic gold, it looks like the developers knew it was garbage, the group members knew the game was garbage, so they just slapped the most random things together and created pure garbage. It looks like the most enjoyable one and I use the term enjoyable very loosely.
Milly Vanilly Make My Video, with unlockable video "Lipsyncing for dummies."
