For a featurette I'm writing.

Using the DP database I'm keying in on everything with the word "pinball" in it, but there are others like Devil's Crush, Dino Land, Midnight Magic, etc. that don't use that word - those are the ones I really want to be sure I'm not missing.

Take a look at this list - if you know of a US-released cartridge or CD-based video pinball game that I'm missing, please enlighten me!

Isn't Devlish for Genny a Pinball game? I know I own it, I just don't remember playing it. I think it's a "adventure pinball" type of game.

And wasn't there a NES game called Pinball Adventure or something like that? I can't remember it, I know I own it, I'll have to check.

I don't know if I'd call Devlish a pinball game. It's more of a breakout style game with a scrolling playfield.

The NES game you're thinking of was Pinball Quest.

First let me say I think this is a great idea for an article DP, video pinball has always been a staple in my games collection. I only have one game to add, and that is PINBALL ACTION. I guess it doesn't really count because its an Arcade game, but I thought I'd mention it since it is the only Arcade Video Pinball game I've ever seen. There could be others but I haven't seen any.

Atari had Video Pinball in arcades and a quick look at KLOV turned up a few more arcade video pins, including a pair of adult games that were most likely Japanese releases.

Never heard of Ms. Pin-bot. What system?

Psycho Pinball is a Mega-Drive game, just confirmed there is no Genesis counterpart to this Codemasters release.

Any other US releases missing (aside from those that were added in subsequent posts)?

Apparently I was thinking of Bride of Pinbot, which is strictly a pinball machine, not a video game.

Joe,

Remove Video Whizball from the list. I was looking at my Channel F stuff today and it's not a pin.

First of all: Sorry. I know I'm bumping a seven year old thread. But this is a list that should be added to, not allowed to sink to its death. Right? Right. So let's flesh this list out with all of the delightful pinball games which have emerged over the last seven years.

Secondly, some question for those of you who are more die-hard about video pinball than I've been: pre-SNES, was the control scheme for at home pinball always the a-button/d-pad combo? Did you ever have to push a specific direction on the d-pad? Do modern games usually stick to the top triggers(or button in 360's case), the bottom triggers, or do they all have options for remapping them? I'm working on making some arcade sticks with pinball buttons on the sides and I would like to give myself options to have them properly mapped for any game I might throw them at.

Thanks, and sorry again if I commited some horrible sin by topping *such* an old thread.

Did a cart version of David's Midnight Magic come out for the XE? It was released for the 2600.

Damn, I didn't realize this post was from 2005.

This thread asks for US released games.
Isn't that like wearing blinders?
Why not try to determine a complete list of video game pinball releases?

The videogaming hobby is much broader than the Unites States.

Neo Logres for Japanese Dreamcast. Necronomicon and Fantasic (yes, Fantasic) Pinball for Saturn...

If you want to add Japanese stuff theres a shit ton more...You should be adding Japanese stuff, this should be a list of ANY and ALL video pinball games.

I would assume the original feature which this thread was made for came out some time ago. As the jackass who bumped the thread, I would be all for having a complete list covering all regions.

Holy smokes. So for you guys that treat pinball games like pokemon, can you answer this for me?(I asked when I necrobumped, but maybe it was overlooked.)

On old school systems without shoulder buttons, was the default control scheme the A button(or equivalent) and the directional pad? Did any of them differ from this formula? I ask because I'm putting flipper buttons on a universal arcade stick and I want to install switches to make them work on everything. Thanks.
