i'm in baltimore for a few days visiting gf's reletives and after looking at the retro video game store map looks like the closest place i may possibly be able to talk my gf into driving to is estarland (about 45 minutes away)

question is has anyone been there recently? is it worth the bother of the trip and time?

retro game stores are allways worth a visit..

even if you dont buy anything it's good to have a look at, and possibly build a rapport with the owner, so just have a look regardless

build a repitoire
a good idea, that's "rapport" though :)

(Remembering I need to spend more time getting on folks' good sides.)

I'm sad to say this....

As of earlier this year, the starland store chain is out of business though the site is still functional.

I was so sad. 3 hours driving to the Annandale, VA location from south of Richmond for nothing.

If you do go I think it would be interesting to hear what you think. Did they have a cool setup? Lots of games to choose from? Any rare finds? Etc

I say go ahead and stop in. Does the Estarbunny greet everyone at the door?

I would honestly say don't visit. The store is alright, but they know what their stuff is worth... meaning that the non-common or sucky games are pretty pricy. The store on Spring St is a small location, with some interesting anime-related tidbits but not to great of a game selection. I'd say save the gas money and just use their website if you must...

i ended up goin down acually, brusnes is pretty acurate. the store is ok but a bit overpriced. the place is basicly part of a warehouse/office so it was kinda awkward going into the place, wasn't sure what to expect on opening the door.

once your inside its pretty pleasnt and well stocked. emplyees were really nice and helpful. as said though things were a bit pricy. was able to pick up a few tg games but just useing there online store is really the way to go here.

I like the warehouse in Fairfax better than the store in Annandale. More selection, and the guys working at the counter (especially if it's the white guy and Korean guy) are pretty funny.
