So I know that these sell relatively well, but how do you guys suggest I market these? They will be going on eBay in the next few days, and my set is seriously like new straight out of the package.

Any thoughts on the relative scarcity of this set and if it should be sold in pieces or in a complete set?

Oh man, I just landed an eBay free listing deal and I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this one. These are so scarce that I might regret this.

Wait, so you used your free listing deal to save 45 cents? I must be missing something.

I checked ended auctions, good luck- the only ones that seem to pull anything close to "big bucks" are ones that are new, and that's around $30. Someone actually sold all 3 in a BIN new for $20.

How much do you think these are worth?

Last few auctions I've tracked sold for higher than that. But two points on this:

Regardless of worth they are still somewhat scarce and looking at them now I'm hard pressed to get rid of them. That was more the point. Even so, I've got a lot of other stuff and stuff like this that isn't really primary has to go.

And as for what I think they are worth? Who cares? What's your point? LOL! Obviously it's sort of irrelevant because I started the auction at a penny. That's the great thing abou eBay, they're worth whatever someone will pay for 'em. ;)

Thanks for the input though guys. Great to be on "board"!

My point was, you seem to be a little on the fence about selling these toys, when they don't seem to be worth a whole lot of money. If you thought they were worth a lot more, I can understand why you'd sell them, but they're probably not going to net you a lot of cash (I could be wrong) so maybe you should just hold onto them. If someone's forcing you to unload your stuff, that's one thing, but when selling things, if you feel even the slightest bit of remorse from just listing them ("so scarce you might regret this") and you're not not going to be pulling in a substantial amount of money, you probably shouldn't unload them.

If you were trying to generate interest in them by saying they're hard to get, so people bid on your auctions, that's another matter.

Anyway, good luck.

It's both. Of course I'm trying to generate interest. LOL, ironically as a product of being on the fence. ;)

Either way, the truth is that I've recently seen auctions where the Link and Ganon have sold out of the package for 70 bones each. This was within the last two months or so IIRC. But I also know the concepts of fluke auctions. Remember the Marvel Legends craze? That's a hard one to replicate nowadays.....

gannon is a bit tough to find, but impa was a major shelf warmer ,in fact still findable in some retail outlets.

I remember buying that set when they first came out. Not sure even what happened to them.

The shelf warmer thing I believe (often the peg warmers later become tough finds ala Marvel Legends Toad or Magneto or GI Joe Stalker for example). But finding one of the Zelda figures at retail nowadays? I don't buy that at all....

Now-a-days.... These things were released YEARS ago and if they are still sitting on store shelves (I got them at a TRU about 2 years ago for a buck a pop) they are pretty out there.

Considering the collectors market i'd have a hard time believing that these will move for all that much because they are loose and not MOC. If I was buying i'd skip right over them for a MOC set in a heart beat.

check out kaybee toy stores, they never completely clearance stuff out, it just sits forever
(a good example about 2 years ago when my kaybee closed down they had original gameboy games that were buried in the mess they called a game case) .

I imagine the impa figures are gone from most if not all kaybees by now, but they were around for an eternity (i never did pick one up but then I hate that era of zelda so no biggie to me) Tru does the same thing, they still have a crapload of superman returns figures on the shelves that nobody wants.
