With the UEFA Euro Tournament going on, I have been playing some SNES soccer games over the past week, so far I have played:

FIFA Soccer 96 (http://www.snescentral.com/article.php?id=0345)
Eric Cantona Football Challenge (http://www.snescentral.com/article.php?id=0866)
Kick Off 3: European Challenge (http://www.snescentral.com/article.php?id=0867)

So far, out of the three, I liked Eric Cantona Football Challenge the best. It is fast paced and easy to pick up and play, though still has some flaws. Despite the acclaim that EA's FIFA games get, I thought it wasn't very good.

Are there any great soccer games for the snes that deserve highlighting? I doubt I will play any again after this week.

Super Soccer was my favorite soccer game for the SNES The controls are simple and its really fun especially if you're playing with a friend. So i highly recommend it.

Oh and the only downside to the game is that you can't switch players the game picks whoever is closest to the ball but still its lots of fun.

International SuperStar Soccer either version, normal or Deluxe, are pretty good. Some argue that they're the best of the SNES.

Capcom Soccer Shootout is quite good too.

Sensible Soccer has crude graphics (looks like a NES game) but the gameplay is pretty good.

The only soccer game I own for the SNES is FIFA '97. I haven't played it much, but it seems like a pretty solid game, and I'd say it's worth the buck I paid.

It's only a matter of time before someone brings up Mega Man Soccer. I wouldn't call it a great game, but it's a pretty good arcade style game that almost anyone curious enough to try it out would enjoy.

Will recommend Sensible Soccer. In the UK it is widely considered to be the second best football game, behind Pro Evolution Soccer.

Furthermore, look for a game called "Striker". Get the original, not the USA 94 version, as it's fast paced and fun. There's quite a fun indoor league game included in it.

International Superstar Soccer Deluxe is the best you can get for the SNES. It's probably my most played game (playing against my brother).

I've also played Super Goal!, but that wasn't too great. Find out the way to score and you'll beat it in no-time.

Sensible Soccer wins my vote, though I also like Fever Pitch as I love violence mixed with football.

Was there a Kunio-themed Soccer game released for Super Famicom?
