I have several copies of Mario / Duck Hunt but I noticed on this one particular cartridge there is a variation.

cart 1

Super Mario Bros. on top
Duck Hunt in middle
Nintendo entertainment System on the bottom

back of cart says CM NINTENDO 1985

cart 2 variation?

Super Mario Bros. on top
NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM in middle
Duck Hunt on the bottom looks like the image was squeezed to fit the sticker.

back of cart has no date on it. just sayd M NINTENDO

anyone else seen this?

Photos please?

I've had thousands of this cart pass through my hands during my Funcoland days, and I can't recall any variants. (Though, they probably are out there, either legit or bootleg.)

The one with NES in the middle is older if I remember right.

I would argue that the label on the right is the older/rarer version, esp. since I got the one on the left with my Action Set on Christmas of '89.

Yeah, the one on the right looks like the older of the variants. I wouldn't use the term "rarer" here though, both are common as dirt.

You're right about the rarity, although I saw someone on craigslist try to sell the 'rare' version for $80.

well i keep the white line variant and the logo lable in my collection as well as the lable variations for the dh,smb, wctm. I always thought the white line lable is the older one, My 1987 action set box has the nes logo lable on it so I'm not sure now. I'm sure some one know far more.

The one without the white line across it is the old version. Note that it doesn't even have a seal of quality on the front.

It's the same deal with Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt/World Class Track Meet. In addition to the switched colors on Mario's overalls and shirt, one has a seal of quality, the other one doesn't. The one without the seal is the old version.
