Super Mario Bros. 3 Variant?

I remember reading about a SMB 3 variant here but can't find the topic. What were the differences?

Do you mean different gameplay variations or just the physical cart/packaging?

There is a version of the cart with the red 'Nintendo Entertainment System' band across the top of the label. Also, the SMB3 that came with the challenge set has a box marked as such.

If I remember correctly, the back of the box of the game has a picture of world 1 that is different than in the released version. Don't know if that helps.

There is a typo in the first version of Super Mario Bros 3 that was released in the US. The typo is in the 1st world when you enter one of the mushroom houses. I dont quite remember what the typo is, but i think it said something like "your" instead of "you're". This version also has the "Bros" part of the Super Mario Brothers logo on the left side, the other version has the "Bros" part on the right side (or maybe it was the other way around, can someone clearify please?).

There might be some other differences too other than whats already mentioned in thread by me and the other posters, but i dont remember, sorry.
