View Full Version : Ebay buyer can't see, somehow my fault

So, I'm sure we've all dealt with our fair share of less than intelligent buyers while selling stuff on Ebay. I know I've gotten plenty of people who simply couldn't be bothered to read auctions correctly before bidding (Hey this is for PSP I wanted PS2 waaaaah), but a recent auction of mine completely boggles my mind. I'm convinced that this buyer simply can't see, or is completely colorblind, and this is apparently my fault.

So a week or so ago, I list the following auction for a copy of Boogerman for SNES : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250258171270&ssPageName=STRK:MESO:IT&ih=015

The guy wins, sends payment, I send, everything's hunky dory. Or at least I thought so.

Yesterday, I receive this "question" from the buyer: "why does the item show a blue case when its gray?"

I'm completely dumbfounded by this. There's no such thing as a blue SNES cart (I think there was only Maximum Carnage which came in red, and Killer Instinct, which came in black, though correct me if I'm wrong). And of course, the auction clearly shows a gray cart. So, I send him a response saying pretty much exactly that, and that I don't really understand his question.

So I check Ebay this morning, and find that the guy left me positive feedback, with this ever-so-intelligent comment: "shows the case as blue, received grey, already have grey one, why we purchased."

I'm glad that he at least left positive feedback so as not to somehow find a way to turn this into an actual issue, but I just figured I'd share this ridiculous story of ebay idiocy with you guys. :)

The white balance on your camera wasn't set quite properly.

It does appear a tad blue :)

But yae the buyer is pretty much an idiot. :2gunfire:

Funny story, and it looks like reading the item description isn't this buyers strong suit.

He left this feedback for another seller yesterday: "came quickly..thought box came with it but nice will purchase again"

From the item description: "SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERY for the Super Nintendo SNES. Game cartridge only."

It was the second sentence in a very short item description. Nice work.

Your camera is jacked and that's a lot for a loose SNES cart that's fairly common. In any event, it sounds like it worked out.

This (http://youtube.com/watch?v=-xstWxjB1Eo) is probably the guy who won your auction.

I know that recently, Ebay has been plagued by "so-so" buyers, but this situation is very funny!

At least he gave you a positive, which is cool. I understand why he stated it looks blue-ish, but still, it was funny!

If your white balance in the shot was a bit off, and his monitor is poorly calibrated ... BAM. Blue SNES cartridge.

Still funny that it was even an issue, though.

It doesn't look close to blue enough to possibly be a variant...it looks so much more grey than blue. You can tell the "blueness" (really just a "cool" photo I guess) in the photo is obviously not real, and simply the camera's settings. So yeah, I mean, he could have asked...

He should had more sense and asked whether the cart was blue instead assuming it was.

Thanks for the replies guys. :) I'll have to make sure that my camera's set properly next time I list stuff to keep such an odd situation from happening again!
