At a small, poorly-attended press conference, Activision and RedOctane announced the upcoming release of Guitar Hero: Guns'N'Roses. Banking on the expected success of Guitar Hero:Aerosmith, the software companies said they hope this will be just as huge but aren't putting all their eggs in one basket.

Axl Rose has agreed to participate and will re-record certain lyrics to make the game more child-friendly. Slash has also been brought onboard to assist in development. Izzy Stradlin and Duff "Rose" McKagan have not replied to press inquires about the game. When drummer Steve Adler was asked about his role in the game, he mumbled incoherently and asked for booze. Matt Sorem, who later replaced Adler, was interviewed but nothing good came of it.

The game is slated to include several hits from Appetite For Destruction, both editions of Use Your Illusion, and even The Spaghetti Incident. Tentative tracks include: My Michelle, November Rain, Hair Of The Dog, and Dust 'N' Bones as well as something off the album Lies to be used as filler. Also announced, there would be hidden tracks that could be unlocked off of The Chinese Democracy album but don't get your hopes up.

With Axl Rose now graciously participating in every aspect of the game, Activision and RedOctane figured the development costs to well exceed $20 million and have given the game an expected release date of June 2023.

Breaking news: The GNR version has been scrapped in favor of a Guitar Hero: Spinal Tap edition which will indeed be accompanied by a Stonehenge stage set-up, cucumbers to stuff in your trousers and a fever blister make-up kit. More details to come!

Cute. Little late for April Fool's Day, but what the heck, right?

Sad thing is, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

They should have a Guitar Hero for EVERY SINGLE BAND! I would love a guitar hero Modest Mouse.

It'll come bundled free with Chinese Democracy.

I wish they would do something like that (at least for an album that actually is coming out sometime). Like a guitar hero demo with a few exclusive tracks from a band included with their cd. Kinda like how that one P.O.D. cd came with an amplitude p.o.d. demo.

This could be the one way the record company could actually make some of the money spent on the recording of Chinese Democracy

Ditto. I'd like it a lot more than GH: Aerosmith...

Hmm.. Well this sounds pretty good in my book. I listen to Guns N' Roses sometimes and enjoy some of there stuff, but I think they should quit with the whole Guitar Hero band name games and just stick on making the series (GH 1-4) alot better.

No "Mr. Brownstone"? Forget it.

By that point we will have Xbox 5,760 with fully holographic Axl to dance to our tunage!

I thought Duke Nukem Forever was to be included with Chinese Democracy... when they are both finished of course. :vamp:
