I just bought the official Earthbound strategy guide. Is it worth anything? I figured with the game being so expensive the guide is probably worth a lot too. Here is the picture:

Near mint ones haven't sold for more than $35 on eBay lately. If you paid more than $20-$25 for that one, I think you paid too much.

I got the guide for free as part of a SNES bundle I bought. It included a bunch of games, an Mini SNES, Earthbound and the Guide. I got a really good deal on everything else but didn't know if the guide was worth much.

I heard somewhere that every Earthbound game included a guide originally. Is that true? I've never seen them sold together before.

Actually, I've been seeing those guides go for upwards of $50-$60 all by themselves especially if they have the scratch and sniff stickers intact.
Yes, Eartbound originally included that guide with every game, howeveer there was also a version of the game with no guide, and the box was just like any other SNES game.

I just paid 39.99 + shipping for one on Ebay last week to complete my copy. Still had the scratch and sniff cards in it. My limit that I was going to spend was $50 including shipping.

I don't remember this do you have a picture of it?

Well damn. Now that you mention it, I can't find one anywhere. I know I saw one a few years back. I don't think I'm wrong that it existed, but there's a good chance I'm crazy. I'll keep checking.

It doesn't exist. There was, however, a normal sized Earthbound box produced for display purposes only, but the only way to buy the game new was in the big box with the guide.

I wish I would have bought one about a year ago. That was a 9.5/10 excellent condition with the cards guide for $25 shipped. I should have anyway; I would have enjoyed reading it. Oh well :/

Yep. You are exactly right. That had to have been what I saw. There it is right there in the middle.

Thanks guys for all the help. Is anyone interested in buying the guide from me? I like it, but I think I would rather buy another game for the $40 instead of having the guide.

PM me if anyone is interested.

I want that display box to display my earthbound game. I hate the big box, it doesn't look as nice with all my other boxed snes stuff

I just sold an Earthbound cartridge with scratched label, with the original guide including scratch n' sniff stickers for $120.
The guides alone were going for $60 in good shape.
