Thought you guys and gals might get a kick out of this.
My gramma sells antiques, and today my mother and I helped move a lot of her stuff from the way south side of Blue Island 40 minutes that-a-way to Manteno Antiques, in Mateno, IL.
Upon running back and forth from the booth I decided to take a short-cut through the display cases area, I turned a corner and caught a weird vibe off of the side of the case. Here's what I saw:

"Son of a light gun," I thought, that looks just like an NES Cartridge! Even the molding down the bottom matched the NES color schemes. Thinking nothing more, we finished our set-up and I asked the front desk to borrow the bathroom door key.
And wouldn't you know it, here's what I get handed:

DUN DUN! Turns out my assumption was right! There are literally 100+ Original NES Retail Display cases through out the store that have been retro-fitted with a weird floor tile or "Manteno Antiques" placard where the NES / Nintendo ones should be. All but one "Nintendo" emblem has been removed, so other than the few side panels and the color scheme, you wouldn't know it unless you knew you were looking at it. I asked around and the building owner got them in a huge lot when he was first planning the antique store layout.
Aside from the missing panels and the usual wear on the foot board, almost all of them were in damn fine condition, full of antiques and the like. I counted at least 100, maybe 110 total cases.
There's something to be said about vintage video game displays showing off even older collectible items. Here's to collecting :)
