I think some of you would find this helpful. The website I run just started tracking new prices for games. You can see how much a new version of a game will cost you vs a used one. Some of the price differences are huge.
The image below shows what it looks like for Chrono Trigger (http://www.videogamepricecharts.com/game/super-nintendo/chrono-trigger).

We just started tracking this a couple weeks ago so some really rare games or older ones that don't show up new very often will show "NA" but once we see a new price for it we will start showing. We have a pretty good number of new prices though.
I hope this is helpful for people when shopping for their collections. Let me know what you guys think of the feature.

I actually use this site a lot. When I come across stuff that I'm really just not sure on, it's a lot faster to get an overall feel for the price by just checking VGPC, rather than scour the eBay completed listings hoping to find something similar. Some of the prices are a bit off, but that is to be expected of any price guide. Overall, I like it a lot.

It's a great site and the prices seem reliable, but I don't find myself using it much. I think it's because I have been doing this long enough that I simply no a good price when I see it.
I think if you could sort of have a "BUY NOW" alert or something it would be cooler. Or perhaps a notification of price drops with newer games (for example, Haze dropping to $39.99).
Also curious to see if a Chrono-Trigger DS release will affect the price of the original (doubt it...).

The "Buy It Now" notification is an idea we had too. Glad you think it would be cool and thought of it too. We were thinking of creating some tool where people can ask to notified whenever a game shows up or if it shows up with certain prices. Then they would get an email or IM link or something letting them know.

Very good question. I'm going to track this when the DS game comes out to see. Other games increase in price, but Chrono Trigger is already so expensive I don't know if it will go up.

Good site, something I thought would be cool quite awhile back but is nearly impossible to have the absolute accurate prices by seeing what online auctions go for. I've pointed the site out to others over time to help with them figuring prices out so good luck in the continuation of operations.

And you should charge a finders fee. :evil laugh:

That would be evil, charging a fee for something like that. Like all of our services for users it would be free. We have advertising links on the site so we let them pay for the cool features instead.

I tried using the site to find some cheap games. Easier than searching ebay myself when I use it next to my own lists. It also allows me to shop from the cheapest games to the most expensive...which is my style...
