The random game generator chose Crime Patrol for 3DO today.
Ever play this one? It came at a time when FMV looked like it was gonna be "it" in the arcades, and was part of the series that put American Lasergames on the map. Home versions of the game were less dramatic but still supported light guns - and with the 3DO versions in particular you simply HAD to play with the gun or you'd really miss the whole "point" of the game (heh).
If you played the arcade version, Sega CD or any of the PC or DVD iterations, feel free to chime in. Write your mini-review here!
DP Guide sez:
Crime Patrol (3DO, by Amer Lasergames) $10/R3
Based on the 1993 American Laser Games coin-op. This is one of those games that you simply must play with a gun to get any satisfaction. Also compatible with the mouse. Action/Target Shooting "Gun Games". Light Gun compatible. SANTULLI SLANT: Any game where you get to fire a gun at bad actors is OK in my book. Especially the ones that say "don't shoot!". Crime Patrol came in that wake of American Lasergames arcade offerings that began with Mad Doc McCree, and you'll swear that some of those horse rustlers you already killed in that game have come back as bank robbers and mobsters here. It's good fun but like most in the series, gets old rather quickly. [Gr: 8, So: 7, Ga: 5, Ov: 5] Released 12/16/94.
