Cord from 32x to Genesis model 2?

I heard somewhere that Radioshack carries a cable that would work for this. Is that true, and if so, what is the name of the cable? If it isn't true, does anyone know of a place where I can buy one?

I doubt they do. The Genesis 2 AV connection is not totally proprietary, but it's very rare. What you're looking for is a 9-pin mini-DIN male to male connector.

I think there might be some other 9-pin mini-DIN configurations, though, so take a good look at the connector on the back of your Genesis before going to look at the cables. Or better yet, draw a picture of it.

If you do find a cable with the right plugs, you also need to make sure that it's actually carrying all the pins. Sometimes, if the cable is made for a specific purpose, only some pins will actually be carried in the cable itself. If the person helping you at Radio Shack doesn't know for sure, try asking if you can open the package and test it with a multimeter by touching the same pin on each side and making sure the connection goes through.

Alright. So you are saying is that any 9-pin mini-DIN male to male connector should work? Radioshack should do returns if it isn't the right one correct? Also, can anyone please post a high quality picture of the cable if they have it? It would be a great help.

Idk lol. I kind of just responded. So, even if it fits perfectly into the system, and has the right amount of connectors, could it still not work with it? Sorry, I am just not that good with electronics.

Any 9 mini pin din male to male connector cable will work ok, but one of the pins needs to be removed from the cable connector (non-official) in order to work properly with the 32X system.....This pin is the 5Vcc line of the Genesis A/V port and the 32X system doesn't need it......

As you can see in Stimmyyjimmeln pics of the official 32X connector cable, one of the bottom two pins isn't there(5v)...
