Item below is sold, this thread and the contents are remaining intact for the benefit of the buyer.

Selling my Sega Nomad, the price is $45 shipped or best offer. Cosmetically the system is in decent/fair condition, not mint by any means, but plays just fine. The volume is very low, which is normal for the Nomad system.

Aside from this, the only notable issue is with the Start button. You have to press down on it somewhat hard for it to register, but it works.

No games, battery pak or AC adapter included. Just the system by itself.

Again, $45 shipped OBO by either Paypal or money order. Feedback is in my signature. No trades, please.

very low volume isnt normal, i had a nomad and it had a pretty decent volume level. i think you might have failing capacitors on the audio amp. the game gear and turbo express do the exact same thing when the caps fail, the sound gets weaker or just dies completly. it's an easy fix though. if i had the money i'd probably buy it off you. would you be interested in a trade for it? my list is right here:

Not saying you are wrong here, since I've had the same problem with a Game Gear myself, but this isn't what is going on with the Nomad I am selling (and I'll place my 2 years worth of 100+ positive feedback from DP on the line here)........I do know the "problem" you are referring to, though.

As far as the volume goes, the "very low" volume that I am referring to on this Nomad falls into line with what you see referenced in this article:

http://www.sega-16.com/feature_page.php?id=74&title=Nomad%20Buyer's%20Guide

"Headphones: Almost required for the Nomad, its weak speaker can barely pump out enough to make it playable in a quiet room. Luckily, the Nomad includes a headphone jack for private listening."

I've had my hands on 3 Nomad's in my lifetime, including this one I am selling, all of which had about equal volume. The speakers on all 3 are "weaker" or pump out a lower volume than anything like a Game Gear, Gameboy or DS. You can hear the game "just fine" on the Nomad I have, unless you happen to have other noise in the room. But it is certainly no match for the volume you'd get playing the same game on your tv through a Genesis.

As for your trade list, I appreciate the interest but have been in the process of working out a deal with the first person who PM'ed me since late last night. Thanks anyway, though......:)
