I'm wondering if somewhere floating around on the internet if there's a guide for all NES games. Not cheating, just like name of game, info about game, a couple screenshotsl, I guess I'm kind of picturing a page per game. Currently I have the digitpress book, which is great but was just looking for something a little more detailed (I would think someone would have made a pdf... maybe).

Stan Stepanic over at the nesworld forums put together a nice list similar to what you're talking about. It's got every game (including some of the more important variants) and a short write-up on each. No screenshots though. He puts his personality into the write-ups, so they aren't so bland. It's a good read, I've got mine printed out and when I'm in the NES collecting phase I use it quite often.

The book Fami-complete is a treasure trove. It lists all famicom games along with box art and screenshots. I wish someone would release a US version

There's Eight-bit Era. A book that was going to focus each game with a write, screen shots, etc. There was going to be a volume for every year, but so far only volume one has been released. It's written by Lucas M. Thomas, who does most of the VC reviews on IGN:

On a similar topic, does anyone have all the NTSC NES games in an except spreadsheet? Would just save me the hassle of typing it up like I did with N64.

Thanks.

I have found many great games using Stan's list. It also includes PAL games. I have a really good PAL nes collection because of his reviews. I highly recommend it. One minor problem, it doesn't open right on my new laptop. The columns get combined so the list is all garbled.

Any chance you could link to this list? I did a quick check on NESworld and didn't find it.

Same here. When I first got it I sat down and just started reading it like a book. By the time I was done I had a bunch of games to put on the "must play" list. His tastes seem to be very close to my own because I tended to agree with about everything he wrote.

Sudo: give http://playnes.3x.ro/ a shot.

Thanks a lot, I'll be going through that since I'm bored and need something new to play.

Thanks for all the links, Stan's list seems pretty interesting.

oobgarm - Thanks for reminding me that I can copy/paste out of PDFs, that just went right over my head for some reason.

Interesting enough after copy/pasting there are 671 games, but I thought there was like 729 or something like that, hmmm.

Fami Complete does indeed rule. I'm so glad I bought it when I did. Very complete indeed. Packed with info.

Well my guess is the lite list is missing some regular games (e.g. Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, Gauntlet) and some variations (all the super mario/duck hunt/track meet) of games.
