Who did they leave out? Who doesn't belong on this list?

Firiona Vie doesn't belong on the list, anything EverQuest should never be recognized by people who don't play the game. Dunno who to replace her with, but probably Tifa.

I am surprised (and I am sure that Kid Fenris is disappointed) that Ulala did not make the cut.

Also, the list should have Ruby from Giga Wing. Sky pirates are sexxxy.

This is very cruel to say, and quite hypocritical coming as it does from my bulging self, but the Firiona model at E3 and EQ events has the cottage-cheesiest stomach I've ever seen. She's not fat -- her stomach is just rippled with cellulite instead of muscle. I imagine she was quite overweight at one point, then dropped a lot of pounds.

Anyway, with that mental image in mind, I cannot support Firiona's place on the list.

Indeed I am disappointed, as I am denied an excuse to vent my dislike of that annoying, pastel-stained kitsch-bag Ulala.

This is a somewhat disappointing list, and not just because Lara came in first. Most of their choices are pretty obvious, and though it's hard to argue with them, it's also hard to be interested in their selections.

It's also a bit too serious for my tastes. Sure, it pays to be straight-faced when you're coming up with the top ten NES game, for example, but this is a run-down of video game women, fer Frith's sake. Have some fun with it! Pick females from obscure games! Play it pretentious by selecting KOS-MOS and pointing out that you're rebelling against the shameful proliferation of video vixens by making the avant-garde choice of an unrealistic artificial abstraction of an unrealistic artificial abstraction of a real woman. And then give the top spot to Princess Toadstool, Princess Tomato, or Poison from Final Fight.

Oh, and they left out Millia Rage. Bastards.

I agree. Why would she be number one anyways? She's not the best looking by a long shot, Tomb Raider wasn't close to being the best game on the list. It's all about commercialism.

This morning's caffeine-fueled theory is that gamespy has a machine, like "Cerebro" of X-men fame, that allows detection of all worldwide incidence of, um, VG-related wanking, and that the list is based on information obtained from "Wankero".

More sales = more wanks.

Well, time to rant.

First off, I hate Lara Croft. To properly relate this, I think I'll scream out something random to vent my unabashed hatred of her.

... I feel better. Now to the logical stuff.

As a huge SNK fanboy, I'm glad to see Mai in the top five. However my favorite female from the KoF series is King, who is quite sexy when she's drawn right. Angel also deserves mention. Not to forget Blue Mary... I'll shut up now.

I do think someone from GG should have gotten in. However, I prefer I-No to Millia Rage to be honest. I dig the whole 'bad girl' thing going on there. Plus, she's a witch.

Samus always seems a little... off in this list. Until Fusion, we've never gotten that great of a look at her. I don't know, something doesn't sit right with that choice.

They wussed out by including all street fighter women and all the DOA women. Pick one to represent the series and take the flames as opposed to choosing an entire group and getting flamed for being a wuss. Wusses. Wussi?

My choice for both series? SF: Juli DoA: Helena. Proceed to disagree with me at will :)

Now, having written my longest post here on the subject of fictional women, I retire to my pale-geek world to read some more threads.

No, but I can put down the artist who did the ad artwork. You think they can possibly make her resemble Liv Tyler's Arwen character (from Lord of the Rings) any more than that? Sheesh.....

I take it you don't play AD&D games. AD&D geeks like women with meat on their bones and big breasts. That has been one fact about fantasy Roll-playing games for, well, sense there was pen and paper rpg's.

Liv Tyler wouldn't last 2 seconds in any dungeon I've seen created.. ;)
