View Full Version : top arcade games from post 1984 era?
ok, so we know the games that were the big hitters in the pre-84 era, your asteroids, robotrons, ms pacmans, donkey kong's would be amoung the games that were considered then, and still now, the top, most competative and gained the most bragging rights if you were good.
But what would be the top post 84 era games?
I know what my favorite games are from that era but in terms of competative, bragging rights games, i struggle to give a defeinative answer beyond street fighter 2 and hyper sports as most games weren't really score or competition based.
I loved golden axe, super sprint, Double Dragon, tecmo world cup etc but these games, while being fun just don't fit what i'm looking for.
Avoiding listing the whole 2d fighter catalogue what would be your take on big competition games from this era?

Bragging rights from high scores back then changed to bragging rights with 1 on 1 VS play in fighting games, to being good at DDR and other Bemani games...
