What Are Some Other Good Genesis SHMUPs?

I popped in Task Force Harrier Ex in my newly accquired Genesis, and all the fun I had with that game back when it first came out was re-awakened. It was love all over again. There's something about the 16-bit era that this current generation of gaming just can't achieve.

Anyhoo, I plan on getting MERCS as well as MUSHA too. I'm a little rusty on remembering other notable SHMUPs the Genesis had, so if you jot a few down, that'd help. Thanks

Gaiares is an awesome shooter, one of the best to grace the US shores.

If you have a modded system or just a basic converter cart, you can add a ton of great shooters from japan and europe. Don't limit to just USA ones

Whoa SHMUPs! Now this is my kind of thread!

I had Gaiares, Bio Hazard Battle, and Sagaia out today and blowing up aliens.

Some games will work without any modding. I have Zero Wings and it works on my US system. Good shooter.

although a little differnt i'd recomend target earth as well for good shooting action.

MUSHA and the Thunderforce games aren't too hard once you get a feel for them.
