Tried to look this thing up in the rarity database and got precisely nil. It's an unlicensed cartridge that has a small amount of flash RAM built in (128K) and a menu to select your uploaded games. It also has a parallel to link port cable and software to manage it.

(Yes, it's got a cart slot because it requires the "Nintendo" to boot properly. You can select the cartridge from the boot menu too.)

Anybody know about this beastie's rarity?

Besides being a homebrew device, it is also the gameboy's paternity test. It pulls the cartridge name from ROM to display in the menu. For things like Final Fantasy Adventure, the name is displayed properly as Seiken Densetsu. The FF Legend games also properly identify as the SaGa titles.

This thing rocks for legal ROM sites such as pdroms.de since the games are usually restricted to small sizes. The only trick is that in order to load those ROMs (or any ROM for that matter) you need to strip out the "Nintendo" boot code from the ROM with a hex editor. This is part of their anti-piracy stuff, apparently.
