I have a 36 XBR Wega(crt 480i) i want to sell it.
the only reason i am keeping it is to use for older light gun games.
has anyone had luck with other types of newer displays and light gun games?
the only type of tv i can think that may work are plasmas?

There were guns made that would work with the PS2 and any HD display but they are virtually impossible to find now (last I checked). Then there is Time Crisis 4.

I have seen the ps2 HD light guns. i will most likely get 2.
that does not cover ps1 or any other systems. I wish they could make an adapter for other systems.
I did buy 2 copies of time crisis 4. now i hope more games come out. HOTD4 ? !!
Right now the wii has a nice handful of games to offer.
any one with a plasma test out any old school light guns?

I have 2 DLP TV's and the friggin zapper is worthless on both of them. Occasionally a random shot will be detected, but it's unpredictable.
It doesn't make much sense to me because I thought all the gun detected was the wavelength of the light and timing of said light emission when you pull the trigger. The colors on the newer screens are the same as they were on the CRT's. Is it a timing issue? I'm sure there's an engineering genius around here who knows! ;)

Lightguns rely on the refresh rate of the TV for timing so anything other than a CRT more than likely would not work.
