I just got two SNES and some games at a garage sale, and these are my first ones, so it may be simple.

I was playing Super Mario World, and mario wouldn't move, but the timer was still going so it wasn't frozen. I switched out the controller with another one, and the screen went all fuzzy. Then I turned the SNES off, and the controller that wouldn't work still wouldn't work, and my save data was gone... Does anyone know what happened or how I could get my save data back? Had almost beaten it.

~Thanks

While I'm not really sure what happened, my only guess is that your save battery burned out while you were playing the game causing it to glitch the game. If this is so you cannot get your saves back. It may also be similar to the N64 where save games may not appear and all you have to do is keep turning on and off your console until the data is back.

If you seem to be stuck with no saves returning, you may have to start a new game. If so, see if the battery is working by saving the game and taking the cartridge out of the SNES.
