I was very disappointed with this years E3, I was hoping for some good games to be announced for the DS. All I saw was another GTA(ds) and FF13 coming to 360 meh not worth my time
There are very few reasons why I have my Psp and Wii. There are only 2 games on the Ps3 that I want to play and Im not going to get a PS3 for them GOW 3,Folklore. Unless a new Zelda comes to the Wii I might sell it off eventually.
Right now I just want the next Ace Attorney and Professor layton games, a Mother trilogy and some of the upcoming releases
but overall I am disappointed with the future of gaming

it seems every E3 that does not have any new hardware to show is a disappointment.

They were all announced before E3 so there was nothing left to announce. I'm looking more forward to ComicCon and TGS to be honest. E3 means nothing anymore so don't get used to absolutely huge announcements coming from it.

This is a pretty spot-on conclusion.
Most of the big Japanese games will be shown at TGS, and we pretty much knew all about the big guns from the US developers.

Right. You can't say this is a disappointing year for games just because nothing was announced at E3. Just looking at a list of already-announced games for the year personally has me pretty excited. I hope Nintendo has a better outing at TGS, but, for what it was worth, I thought Sony and Microsoft did the best they could given nearly everything was already announced. Even after saying that, there is still a good amount of products I'm anticipating from Nintendo such as Wario Land and Animal Crossing. I know a majority of people couldn't care less about those two games, but they always say, different strokes for different folks, and with any event's announcements, you can't please all of the people, all of the time.

The part that disappointed me the most was Nintendo. Sony and Microsoft announced a few games but they usually tell people about games before E3 too. Nintendo is usually more secretive, but they didn't have any big special releases at all. They say they are giving games to the 'core' gamers, but they didn't say anything about Pikmin, Kid Icarus, Disaster Day of Crisis, not to mention Zelda and Mario.
I was hoping for at least one of those at E3.

Me too. I rarely see much of anything that intrest me these days. I've never been into FPS and with the market over saturated with them I'm kinda outta luck. I love racing games, and some of the stuff on 360 doesn't look too bad but nothing that warrents me spending that much money on a new system. Wii isn't really doing much for me at the moment.
However though, I am enjoying playing catchup of PS2 and I hope they continue to poor out the good cheap budget stuff for awhile. So I think I'll stay pretty much in last gen for awhile.
I sometimes hope that maybe everyone will burn themselves out on all the shooters, but I honestly can't see that happening.

Get used to disappointment.
You still want companies to base their release schedules around announcements at a dead trade show? e3 is a waste of time for them too - there's a reason they're trying to kill it. It's the screaming internet fanbois with the pissant review sites that keep it going. Let it die!
You also said meh. MEH!

"Right now I just want the next Ace Attorney and Professor layton games, a Mother trilogy and some of the upcoming releases"
Right now is the best time ever to be a gamer...period.
People really need to move on with this Mother/Earthbound love...great stuff for sure but seems to fall in the Duke Nukem Forever category...
Ace Attorney and Professor Layton? I do not have words...enjoy those games, but too exclusion of the rest? Ridiculous.
E3 isn't what it was but it showed off what is; yes we knew almost all of it...FFXIII was a huge announcement for the 360, GOW3 was insane. The footage for RE5/GOW2/Resistance 2/Fallout 3 was fantastic as well as Mirror's Edge and a few other titles.
No reason not to keep loving your PS2. I just popped in Killzone for the first time in preparation for the sequel. Though one of the maligned fps'(I can understand being burnt out on them) it is fantastic...
...aren't 360's $299 now? That is a buy it now price for this caliber of system...

I have a 360 and it is the equilavent of last gens ps2 as far as I am concerned
Move on from Mother/Earthbound? Please that's like telling a Square enix fanboy to move on from FF7

who needs a mother DS trilogy? I know EB is expensive, but you can find other ways, or wait for the VC release (who knows when) but as far as Mother 3, just wait until about 3 to 4 months and the translation patch will be done, then you can play it. www.mother3.fobby.net

E3 is dead, long live the disappointment!
Cammy, go away no one likes you... And was it just me, or did Trenton look like he got one of them orange spray-tans? Could just be eating too many carrots...
GoW3 was insane. Oh, it's a CGI trailer with a stupid one-liner. Insane indeed. Thankfully MAG will not be released with the acronym of it's original title, Frantic Action Game. LOL
The announcements were lean, but they at least had the decency to give us plenty to farm jokes from. :D

E3's List of Disappointments :sob::sob::sob:
-Microsoft's lack of discussion on RROD issue.
-Sony's conference didn't give me a reason to buy a PS3
-Nintendo's horrible rendition of the Mario Bros theme song (Didn't they practice?)
-The biggest disappointment of all was from Nintendo's fans. Couldn't believe how many of the "hardcores" were jumping the N ship for ONE conference and without realizing they got Super Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii and Mario Party 8 within the last year. Their "casual" complaints are overrated and presumptuous as Miyamoto did announce new Mario AND Zelda games are in the works. With TGS and another conference coming up, we may hear about Kid Icarus, Starfox, Punch-Out, and more before Christmas.
Until then I'm going to invite a few friends over to shoot zombies and have a few cold drinks before summer ends. :rockets:
Later! 8-)

In another few years, E3 is going to be dead.
I wasn't expecting any serious information, although the little bit of Killzone 2 info was nice.

While supplies of the 20 GB model last, yup. Then they price goes back up to $349 or whatever. It's a bit of a scam really.

I don't really see how $349 for a 60 GB hard drive system compared to $299 for a 20 GB hard drive system is a scam given the system's current pricing. Are you saying too many people are going to rush for the lower price and later get burned by the smaller size of the 20 GB hard drive?

Well they are *not* permanently lowering the price of systems, they're just blowing out some of the older models if you will. Leading people to believe the former is disingenuous IMO, hence my scam comment.

I want the mother ds trilogy not for earthbound but rather Mother and Mother 3
Besides almost of all the major snes rpgs have been remade for the DS(CT, FF4,FF6,DQ 5,6) so why not Secret of Mana and earthbound?

While I think that the overall E3 show kind sucked when it came to any showstopping info, I kind of look at it like this.
1. E3 is one step from the grave. Major companies are running from the event. It is a glimmer of what it once was. Due to its diminished reputation, this might just make the TGS a bigger event to announce some key upcoming titles and gadets
2. Mid console years shows are always kind of boring. I was disappointed to not see further price drops on things(bigger than the ones announced). Time will tell if this will backfire on the the consoles.
3. We still have PAX coming up as well as TGS this year. I think that E3 will either not be around next year or it will have to change dramatically. I live in the northwest so I am very excited about the E3 continuing to suck...it just makes PAX even that better.

I'd agree.
Besides Fallout 3 and Gears 2, this year was a giant snore fest.
The new Bionic Commando impressed me, too. But not anyone else, it seems...

Of everything that happens with E3, the only thing I really look at is the press conferences. This year, MS had a decent conference but the other two did the same thing they always do, "here are a bunch of numbers to show you why we think you should buy our system and make us more money". I personally hate that tactic. Just show us what actually makes your console more fun/enjoyable cause gamers can care less about how many units your console sold in the last 6 months. IMO it was a semi-disappointing E3 but at least we got some better looks at the releases we are looking forward too like Fallout 3 and for me Rock Band 2.

I could see the blow out point of view. A lot of people are speculating the same will be happening to the Arcade unit somewhere down the road. Our local stores, at least, can't get rid of the damn things.
So ... with the rumblings that E3 '09 might possibly be open to the public - would that rejuvinate anything?

If 90% of what is shown is announced before the event then that leaves a resounding NO. It'll just be loaded with idiots with a little industry folk mixed in. Crowded + disappointing event = a worse E3 that is open to the public

I know the HDD-less 360s were meant to distract the consumer into thinking the machine wasn't as expensive as it is, but they've got to abandon those too. They should be all about the 360 experience and you can't get that without an HDD.
