I'm starting work on my PSX RPG collection, and I know there are a crapload more than I know about. I'll start off with what I have, then what I know I need to pick up.

PSX
Have:
Lunar 1 & 2
Final Fantasy:
7, 9, Anthology, Chronicles, Origins, Tactics
Brigandine
Dragon Warrior 7
Xenogears
Legend of Dragoon
Wild Arms 1 & 2
Suikoden 2
Chrono Cross

Need (here we go):
Grandia
FF8
Breath of Fire 3
Suikoden
Alundra 2
Azure Dreams
Star Ocean 2
Legend of Legaia
Arc the Lad collection(new for $50 a deal, or still too much?)
Valkyrie Profile
Tales of Destiny
Thousand Arms

I know I'm leaving a lot out... and probably some pretty big name titles too. I haven't played a lot of these games I don't have, if there are any I should definitely pick up ASAP that'd be helpful too. Thanks!

There's also Beyond the Beyond, Shadow Madness, and Jade Coccoon, but those games absolutely suck. :P

Hehe, that's what I'm looking for. As much as I'd like to have a "complete" collection I really don't want games that I'm not going to play through. Any of the ones I have listed on the needs section that aren't worth the time?

Let's see . . .

Good:
Alundra
Front Mission 3
Hoshigami
Kartia
Ogre Battle
Persona 2
Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure
Saga Frontier 2
Tactics Ogre
Tales of Destiny II
Threads of Fate

Average:
Breath of Fire IV
The Granstream Saga
Saga Frontier

Bad:
Battle Hunter

And that's all I can remember right now.

Wow. Looks like I've got quite the job ahead of me. Any of the ones I've listed in "need" that absolutely suck?

I just need a non-GH version of FF7, Origins and Tactics to finish off the PSX part of my FF collection.

Arc the Lad collection(new for $50 a deal, or still too much?)

That's definitely a great deal. Here's my review if you're interested. (http://ps.vgf.com/reviews/arccollection/index.htm)

Dammit, you're supposed to tell me it blows ass and to not waste my money on it... Now I have to find another $50 :(

Front Mission 3... wow. I remember hearing about the game a long time ago but I never paid any attention to it. I didn't even know until now that it's by Square (Although I've lost a little bit of faith from the progression of the FF series and that asstastic game called SaGa Frontier). I think that's heading to the near-top of my list.

Anything else?

I liked Parasite Eve. I haven't touched the second one though so I'm not sure if thats good. Also people seem to like Vagrant Story...I wasn't too fond of it.

I played Vagrant Story a bit... seemed a bit tedious and lonely. I dunno, I just couldn't get into it.

One of my favorites was Vagrant Story, which I haven't seen mentioned so far. It's a little more complex but definitely worth it.

Yeah, Vagrant Story is the best RPG on the PSX - youi should try it one more time at least.

Well I just found a pristine Parasite Eve for $10 with guide... that made my day.

What just totally ruined my day was the Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete Working Designs hardcover strategy guide. The ONLY place I've ever seen this is on ebay, everywhere else it doesn't even seem to exist. The Arc The Lad hardcover guide is still in print, but even if the Lunar 2 guide is out of print (which after hours of searching with nothing, I garantee it is), book stores would still list it in out-of-print lists and I can't even find it there!

What the hell is up with this guide? Was it only available to certain people or through a catalogue or something?
