Microsoft announced at it's Gamefest that effective immediately all Games for Windows will have free live play: http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/games-for-windows-ndash-live-goes-free/?biz=1 Although this only includes pc gaming lets hope that it one day extends to the console side of things on the 360 and all future iterations.
