I have a Kaypro II computer that I need the system disk for. The file is online here:

http://www.classiccmp.org/dunfield/img/index.htm

In the software archive section it's one of these:

Kaypro II system disks

Kaypro 3*83 disks (also KayproII)

I have no no way to make a 5 1/4" floppy disk. I only have access to newer Macs, no PCs at all let alone an old one. Anyone here have the right kind of equipment and know-how to do this? I'm willing to pay you or trade something.

Thanks, y-bot

About 5 years when I bought an Intertec Superbrain (a similar CP/M based computer), I managed to find a store online that sold copied CP/M boot disks for dozens of different systems for some small fee. I'll see if I can find the site.

It'd probably be easier to just buy some cheapo 486 and a 5.25" drive and do it yourself, assuming it's an MFM formatted disk.

I don't really know how to use a PC and I think finding all the right programs and figuring out how to use them is over my head. I was hoping someone here would have the setup to do it. If you fins that site please let me know.

Thanks, y-bot

You should ask here (http://www.old-computers.com/forum/frameset.asp).

Great site -- someone on the forum should be able to help out.

Oh, yeah! Vintage Computer looks much more active.

There's definitely a way to do this. Heck, if folks can create and put data on 1541 drives, they can do what the OP is asking.
