Klonoa 2 is still my favorite cel-shaded game. Such a great character and so under-utilized (at least in America).

The masses applaud you! Your article delivers a very good overview of the series!

The Klonoa games are jewels not only among the hybrid genre puzzle/platformers, but outstanding games overall.

One of my best game experiences for the last gen games was Klonoa 2. Great platforming, great puzzles, wonderful quirky atmosphere in a cel-shaded world, and a fantastic balance of the difficulty levels from start to end.

I hope these kind of games won't be a thing of the past for the established consoles. The uncommon 2D games in the last seven years delivered fantastic gameplay; Gradius V, the two Viewtiful Joe games, R-Type Final, Klonoa 2, Mega Man X8, and last but not least the two Contra games.

I even enjoyed the gorgeous looking, lighthearted and easy Shamu's Deep Sea Adventures. :)

Wow, I just looked this game up and it looks very impressive! I will be sure to buy this if I ever see it at gamestop and have the courage to show it to the employee at the counter without getting funny looks :)

It's mentioned in the article that Klonoa: Door to Phantomile was the first to coin the term 2.5D for platforming, but Pandemonium was released over a year earlier than Klonoa's Japan arrival. At least on PlayStation, I wager Pandemonium is the first game to popularize 2.5D platforming.

As for Klonoa's graphical approach influencing other platformers such as Tomba!.. Klonoa was released a mere 2 weeks before Tomba! in Japan.

Nitpicking aside, the article was an enjoyable rundown of Klonoa.

Well, we already have a thread about the game (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104279), featuring a link to the HG101 article (http://www.hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/klonoa/klonoa.htm). I stand by my assesment of Empire of Dreams.

I have part 2 on ps2. I bought is used probably 5 years ago and I played it for like 15 minutes and fell a sleep. Not because the game was boring but because I just got back home from work and was tired. I never played it again since.
