So I picked up this Willow cab. today. It is complete minus the side art. I already have my Splatterhouse pcb in it:-D

Any tips on degaussing the screen? It has a little blueing on the left and right edges. I already tried holding a computer monitor up to it, face to face, and then opperating the degaussing feature on the computer. It helped some, but I can still blueing. Thanks.

does touching it with rubber gloves absorb the "energy"?

You can actually degauss a monitor using a power drill. Hold the base of the drill near the monitor, and then work your way out in a circular pattern while operating the drill. It is possible that the monitor actually needs capping.

Is there any way to tell for sure Flack?

Edit: Nevermind, I tried the soldering gun method and after alot of fiddling around with it, the screen is PERFECT!!

Re-Edit: The blueing returned to the screen after some time. WTF??

Sorry about your trouble with the monitor but I just wanted to congratulate you on your purchase. That game is a classic CPS game that often gets forgotten about. It's in the same league as Ghouls 'N' Ghosts and Strider in my opinion, but Capcom keeps leaving it out of comps due to licensing issues most likely.

Enjoy it. It's, in my opinion, one of the better movie-based games of any period.

Have you been moving it around any? Sometimes monitors can do that if their on their sides or backs. They can sometimes fix themselves after a while too. Be carefull when trying to degause it though. You can really mess it up if your not carefully. Work slowly.

The discoloration always returns to the same spot, which is the same place it was when I looked at the machine at the place I bought it from. Anyways, my degaussing coil is in the mail to me, so hopefully I have some luck with it:D

I've heard of this but with a magnet attached to the spinning end.

I have heard of it done that way too, even seen it on Youtube. Didn't work for me though, but the soldering iron method worked....for awhile:-/
