Odd N64 System Find

So I was shopping on ebay for a Nintendo 64 for my little sister cause she loves Paper Mario,and well i found something ive never seen before,a Nintendo 64 in plexi glass,least I think thats what it is,you tell me lol.

Just thought i share it with everyone,it was a steal for only $20.00. Works pretty well.

My guess is that it's a case mod. If so, it's done rather well.

I remember this casemod. It was on another forum where the owner claimed it was a prototype N64, which I'm pretty sure it's not. I saved the photos, so here they are.

It looks like someone with a plexiglass case, a router, and some spare time on their hands made it. It's not something that Nintendo themselves put out, I can assure you. However, it is creative and neat.

prototype,nah,who ever said that is a moron,prototypes usually have larger motherboards,or at least most of them do :), and btw,yea the seller used the same damn pictures for the ebay auction,what a rip lol,eh its still another nintendo 64.

I'm thinking this was a case for something else before an N64 got shoved in there. If you zoom into the picture you can sort of see that the hole in front (or not) of the 3/4 player sockets is properly finished off. The holes that have been cut for 1/2 players and the cart socket are just hacked in very roughly and not finished off. And if you were gonna build a custom case you'd build one that fits.
