So I just picked up Symphony Of The Night (non-GH version) last week. Last time I played it was when it first came out several years ago. After playing thru the intro, I realized one of the voice-over lines was missing. I distinctly remember someone (either Dracula or Alucard) saying "I've been waiting for you!" I'm 100% certian that this line was spoken in the game becuase the voice acting was so bad, me and my buddy always quote it whenever we talked about SOTN.

Anyone know what line I'm talking about, and what part of the game it's spoken in? Im only 25% thru it right now, so there is a chance that it comes later in the game, but I could have sworn it was in the intro. If they cut it out, I'll be real pissed because one of the reasons I bought the game is so I can hear that stupid line again!

im pretty sure its in there, i remember laughing to death at the cheesy voice acting many many times. Hell, even when i last played a few months back! I replay the entire game every now and then,(YES ITS JUST THAT DAMN GOOD) =) I have the original release, not the greatest hits, dunno if that has something to do with it or not...

AFAIK there was only one printing of the original version. Anyone know otherwise?

I'm guessing it's later in the game. I bought SotN the day it came out in America and don't remember that from the intro. I also started a new game with that copy just last night. :)

It is BEAUTIFUL in RGB.

Thats what I thought, but the back of my copy has quotes from several magazine reviews praising SOTN, which leads me to believe that there was at least 2 print runs of the game.

My original copy has quotes from '96 and '97 game mags, GameFan and EGM among them IIRC. One said it was Konami at its best, or something similar.

Odds are our cases look identical, different printings or no.

Games silently go through several different revisions on a regular basis. The most famous example is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. There are different versions. Sometimes it is a bug fix (v.1 has a bug where you can get link without a sword), sometimes it is a cover-our-butt fix (v. 1.1 changed gannon's blood from red to green), sometimes it is modified to block cheaters (v. 1.2 removed the temple chant and required different gameshark codes).

So it's very possible that there are different revs of SotN, although I can't think of any reason why they'd remove that one line. Unless it is just such bad acting they couldn't take hearing it around the office anymore.

That line isn't in the intro of my copy, but it might be later in the game, that I don't remember. It might be when you face dracula at the finale, actually. I can guarantee it's not in the intro though. Why? Because I've had the intro memorized since before the game came out (saw it on a preview video), due to its humor value.

Yeah, it's in there - Richter says it at the top of the castle when you play as Alucard :whip:
