PixelJunk Eden: Demo is Up

PixelJunk Eden is one of my most anticipated games for the year so I was super psyched to see the demo up last night; I hadn't heard anything about the demo being announced.

I've been playing around with it quite a bit (two levels available); I'm very, very impressed with the game so far. I was sort of afraid it would be much more esoteric experience since people seemed to have so much trouble describing the game. It's really just a 2D platformer with super cool mechanics, very stylized graphics, and a fantastic soundtrack.

All PS3 users should go check it out ASAP.

Yeah, it came in Thursday's PSN update. The full game is being released next week.

I've been playing it. I love the music.

The controls took a bit of getting used to. But once you get a hang of it, it's really fun.

I didn't really care for it, and I loved Monsters. What's Pixeljunk's deal with having to put their logo at the bottom of the screen on their games?

Not more generic junk like Monsters "yes I didn't care much for it" and Racer. This game is actually good. I also thought Flow was junk.

This game actually has some nice atmosphere/music and is more akin to a platformer which I really like. The best PixelJunk game for sure.

Would it be unfair to categorize this game as "Metroid-esque"??? It has a weird Metroid vibe to it, because of the exploration elements.....

Negative. No trophies.

The game is absolutely fantastic though and it gets a LOT harder than the demo leads you to believe. Garden 7 begins screwing with gravity. It's pretty wild.

Actually, the full game DOES have trophies. I've already gotten 3.

Yeah, I just noticed this morning when I took time to get all the seeds in Garden 3.

Holy crap is Garden 7 hard or what. The difficultly level really starts ramping up.
