I went past a pawn shop and they had a halo 360 mfg date 7/27/07 with a 203 watt power supply The owner upgraded to the 120 gb hard drive. After negotiating they wouldn't budge and was asking 233 after tax.
I know it has an hdmi port but was unsure if it was the new board. Also the sale is as is. I am tempted but just a little nervous about the as is with the 360 reliability issues and the recent price drop to 299.99. The back of the fans have a little dust but over all the system looks clean. Has anyone heard of any issues with the halo 360's

The Halo 360s have the same problems as all of them, but I think they stand up a little better than the older models. The first thing I would check is if the warranty seal is intact. Then I'd take down the serial and check the warranty status. If the seal is good, the system works, and it's still under warranty, I'd buy it.

Buy it, if it's RRoD, you can send it in and get it fixed...if it's got some other issue, just call up MS, say you got the RRoD and they'll fix it for free anyway.
$233 is a steal for that with a 120 GB hard drive. Considering they were charging like $180 or some BS for the 120 not too long ago...

If you see HDMI, it has a new board.
The previous set before (that was the worst RROD giver) didn't come with HDMI.

He was trying to say that they kicked the RRoD with the introduction of the HDMI, which unfortunately is not the case. It just happens less overall than it did previously.

Well Last I left off I was contemplating. Then I said what the hell I put it on layaway 60.00 down. I figure pay on it slow.
Well Low and behold I go into a gamestore today this guy is at the counter asking me if I want to buy his 360. They were only offering 93 for everything because he wanted cash.
He was claiming it was in great shape but the harddrive was cruddy from tobbaco and the system smelled like tobbaco. He was like 150 next stop ebay or craigs list. I am like not even 50.00.
Well I am looking around and another guy comes in with a backpack saying I want to trade in a 360. He pulls out a mint barely used 360 halo edition. he was going to get 120 I pull out and was like here is 120 no paper work. He said he wanted to get a ps3. everyone was cool and I was thinking dam what a deal. Everyone in the store was cool they didn't want to deal with the paperwork. I get it home test it he had only 3000 gamer points everything worked fine. The biggest thing I noticed was how quiet it is.
Now I am debating do I cancel the layaway sometimes pawn shops can charge fees but then again it has a 120hd drive. I feel like a butt because I was there for two days debating. I admire guys that have the power to wait until something comes in cheap.
