hey guys, today I bought a Turbografx-16 without any cables for 20 bucks. Not an amazing deal but its so unbelievably hard to find any used video games in my area. Garage sales aren't great, Pawn shops and video game stores have insane prices.

anyways the point is could I use RF switches and AC adapters from a different system? I tried looking this up and found mixed answers. I found out I can use a NES RF Switch? is this true?

My friend said he would be willing to give me his cables if they work, It would be awesome so I wouldn't have to buy the cables just a controller.

Yup yup. The TG16 uses "universal" AC and RF plugs. You can substitute an NES, Genesis, Master System, Jaguar, etc power and ANY RF adapter with an RCA cable (all of the above apply).

The NES adapter outputs in AC which would kill the TG16.

Use a Genesis 1 power supply and a genesis rf unit, and you will be fine.

very true, do NOT use an NES ac adapter for anything that required DC current.
