If you've already bought a Wii, I think you have from your post, just sell it and use that money to buy a 360 or PS3. Wii's hold their value really well so it shouldn't be a problem getting your money back from it. Since there doesn't seem to be any Wii games you want coming out that is my advise, at least if that is the point of your post.

Give him a break; the guy lives in India -- English is probably his second (or third) language.

Avtera, the Wii has some great games out for it, but you are right -- it can not and does not compete with the 360/PS3 when it comes to big title releases. It is not as powerful as those consoles and does not have the same storage capacities. If you bought a Wii in hopes of playing the latest big budget titles, you may have made the wrong choice. That being said, there are a lot of great Wii games out there that will never appear on those other two systems.

I guess what I am saying is, appreciate the Wii for what it is, don't hate it for what it is not.

The Wii is not for big-title games like GTA, RE5 and Midnight Club.

It has it's special control setup and games that use it, and that's what makes it fun.

Flack says it best.

Like Flack said, if you are going to picky about grammar on a message board, maybe you should capitalize the first letter of your first sentence when picking on someone from another country who does not know the specifics of spelling in English thoroughly.

Doa!! Now I feel frakin' horrible! Didn't mean to start anything with the little flappy up yonder. Just struck me as a little comical first thing this morning and sometimes it's hard to convey humor on-line.

Props to AVTERA, no offence intended.(And I can only speak 1 language!)

It wouldn't hurt to spell "fail" correctly either. And don't even get me started on sentence fragments...

I don't even own a Wii. I gave mine to my friend's kid after I played through RE4 Wii and Mario Galaxy.

Where's that DING! that boatofcar used in that other thread? We now have the obligatory "diskoboy mentioning the Wii he sold" post!

I was going to share my opinion, but I think Flack covered most points very well. I still think the Wii is a great system though, and if you explore its library, youmight find some pretty darn fun games in there. But it clearly isn't for everyone.

If you're looking to play all the latest flashy games, the Wii isn't really your best bet.

And I read that tittie games. I agree the Wii needs more tittie games.

Get the console which has the games that you want. From your post, it sounds like the Wii doesn't have games that you like. You can sell your Wii for close to the price you paid for it, if it's in high demand in India. Then compare the 360 and PS3 and find which one you like more, and buy it.

But you also wanted to know what was good about the Wii. In fairness, look at this list of highly rated games (http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/simpleratings.asp) for the Wii. About half of them are exclusives.

And thanks to the Wii, I'll be god-damned if I ever camp out for a console, ever again. Namely, one from Nintendo.

If Lord Shiva approves of your Wii and considers it one of his lingam, you should definitely play with it and enjoy it.

Any self-respecting gamer should never, under any circumstance, buy a Wii as their exclusive gaming console. The Wii is a nice secondary system to back up and compliment their primary console of choice (PS3 or 360). If you want to call your Wii the primary and the 360 or PS3 the secondary...fine (I'm trying to be diplomatic here).

The point is you can't just own a Wii and expect to be satisfied that you're experiencing what modern gaming has to offer.

I totally agree with heybtbm. The Wii was the last system that I purchased. I really like it for what it is, but would be missing out on a lot of great games if it was my only newer system.

sirhansirhan
07-29-2008, 02:12 PM
I have all three next-gen systems, and like them all, and the Wii is far and away my favorite (so far; that's subject to change in the next few years). I currently own two PS3 games, three Xbox 360 games, and 10 Wii games.

I'm not sure how it is currently working over in India, though. Do you have roughly the same amount of games to choose from on each system that we do here? Do you import? Etc.

Camping out to buy stuff has to be one of the strangest phenomenons I have ever run across. Not a criticism of you, but I just don't "get" sitting outside a store all night in order to spend money there...

Yes, you've made a mistake if you want big budget, epic third party games. That's why I sold mine in February and bought a 360 to complement my PS3. Both of them together have a large lineup of exclusive titles that I'm interested in, whereas the Wii has no games I'm looking forward to at all this year.

The Wii is a piece of garbage, considering that my Wii won't even turn on anymore after I played Super Smash Bros Brawl and the disc killed the system.

No, I'm not a Nintendo hater. Well, I wasn't before their stupid game destroyed the system they built and sold.

Do yourself a favor, guy. Don't buy a Wii.

wii is fantastic to some extent.......if you bought it, you did it for playing first party Nintendo games.
not for third party big stuff aka gta4 and resident evil 5.
just sell it and buy xbox 360 arcade if money is really tight(although you really "need" hdd to fully enjoy it).
well, good luck with picking right system for you *there are only two choices left hehe ^^

I agree with most of the posters that you should probably have a Wii and a 360 or PS3. However, I did choose to buy my Wii first. There are several fantastic games and lots of good ones, but none of them have a ton of replay. With the exception of the party/sports games, you'll play them once and put them away. So, get the Wii and a 360 and enjoy the best of both worlds.

Depends on your experience. If your asking whether you made the wrong choice or not, then you most likely did. I been running Wii only and I'm doing alright. :) I'm a fence rider for the 360 and PS3. I am going to get at least one of them eventually. I'm just waiting for the decision to be more obvious and much less nebulous than it is as of now. If/when MS tightens up the hardware or Sony starts releasing games that grab my attention I think that will be the day.

Selling a Wii is pretty much a zero loss situation here in the States. You can always come back to it later if you like. It's not a big deal. :)

Did you even pretend to read the original post? He said he already had one. If you're going to rail against a system, at least try and make points relevant to the topic at hand. The random blowhard angle is tired anyway...everyone is doing it these days.

This is where I made a mistake. As usual I stuck with Nintendo and got their system as my console of choice for this gen. I was really awesome for the first few months and I loved it, but I kinda lost intrest in it. Even SSBB couldn't rekindle my intrest in it. Bought the game new, played it for a couple days, haven't touched it since.

I'm really glad a got a PS2, or I dunno what I'd do.

All in all, Wii is a pretty much a love it or hate system. Great for some, not so much for others.

The wii is fantastic, and I can sum up why in two words: Fire Emblem.

I mean, there are a bunch of other games I have for it, and it really does get more use than my 360. But man. Fire Emblem is amazing.

This about sums it up exactly for me as well. Bought mine last summer, it was great for the first couple months and then it died hard. Sadly, I only pick up a game for it every couple of months (re4, mario galaxy, mario kart, chocobo dungeon).
There are only a select few games that are worthy of picking up and ones that are good have stayed at $40-50 since they've been out; which is the reason I haven't got Twilight Princess or Metroid Prime 3 yet.
There are a couple other games coming around that I'm interested in but still...another few months period of no Wii playing til they arrive (Mad World, Tales of Symphonia sequel).
My opinion is the same as most...a Wii is worth having around for those handful of excellent titles, but if you're going to have a Wii you better be purchasing a PS3 or 360 to fill in the dry spells.

Or you can avail yourself of the Gamecube game library while waiting for the next Wii game hit to come along.

Wii + Wavebird + Eternal Darkness (or Beyond Good & Evil, etc) FTW! :D

So, is that supposed to be funny?

Or are you a ten-year old Nintendo fanboy who cant stand to admit the Wii is an unmitigated piece of shit?

Wii software selection = fail
Wii online functionality/strategy = fail
Wii console data storage = epic fail

Wii = waste of $250.

Ask Atari - you can't continue to sell hardware without good software. Oh, that's right - Atari is dead.

I really have no idea why grown ass men are complaining about the "Wii". Okay so you spent your hardearned monies and bought all these games and "oh my gosh" this system sucks. I for one have bought my second one since it came out due to the fact that some fuck head stole our first one from Detroit Metro airport from our luggage. I never play it but my kids do all the time. To the original poster, you will get tons of yokels on here talking a big game or who have a alpha male complex but you ultimately will make that decision of selling or keeping. Anywho, Ciao.
