I was cleaning up my apartment earlier today and I stumbled across my worn and tattered copy of the Digital Press Guide Volume 3. Oh, how I wish I could go back in time and get these 2600 games for the values listed!

Eli's Ladder - $60

Malagai - $45

Mangia - $60

Condor Attack - $50

Gauntlet - $45

and finally...

Air Raid - $20 :o :o :o

I found some of my old FuncoLand price lists a while ago.

Check out Stadium Events

If Stadium Events is as rare as it supposingly is then why was Funcoland charging so little for it even back then? Wasn't their prices based on both demand and rarity?

the store i work at has a $1.00 trade quote for Stadium Events still. I have a post it note next to the price that says i will pay $100 for it as long as the label looks nice.

If they'll only give $1, why wouldn't you just offer like $10? Haha...

AFAIK, Funco's prices have always been based on demand, period. Which is why you see dirt common titles like Zelda with a $15 price tag. If Funco was a store geared towards collectors, then you'd see SE listed as more.

to make sure they trade it in

I guess that Thomas the Tank Engine, Barbie Supermodel, and Barney's Hide and Seek for the Genesis are in very high demand at Gamestop then. According to Gamestop.com all of them are priced at $15.00+

Oh, and Super Dodgeball is more in demand than Legend of Zelda for the NES.

Ok there Sarcastro. :P I was just going by what I was told when I asked someone who worked there. Are you implying that Thomas the Tank Engine, Barbie Supermodel, and Barney's Hide and Seek are rare? Seems to me like when I've been in there the only times I've seen people buying 16 bit games other than myself, it's been people with little kids who don't want to shell out for a current system.

(PS- I don't mean that as a flame. Sarcastro was my fave character on the Tick, so take that as a sign of honor.;))

Malagai - $45
Mangia - $60
Condor Attack - $50
Gauntlet - $45
Air Raid - $20

Next time I see one of these for sale I'm going to offer the seller "double DP prices!" I just won't mention that it's volume 3. ;)

I don't think that these games are very rare, maybe uncommon. But I for the life of me can't see them as being in very high demand either. I think Gamestop execs get together with Goodwill managers and drink a lot right before they price new items.

Ah yes, the old DP Guides and if you're really a veteran our "Checklist Central" lists!

I cringe when I look back at that stuff now but consider that they're really pre-internet, definitely pre-eBay and most certainly pre-everyone can get on the 'net and contribute, I think we did pretty well for the era.

I recently bought out a Colecovision collection locally. The guy had a DP 5th edition that he was getting his prices from, I think. He kept thumbing through the thing, but nevertheless sold me the lot at a severe discount (still spent a crapload of money). He kept say 'check eBay on the prices' and practically encouraged me to sell the lot. It was so wild to see him waving that old guide around, and it made me feel even stupider to be playing stupid about the guide/eBay when I am a DP staffer.

Considering the earliest edition I've seen is #4, it should be interesting to have a look at #3 next week... only about 60 pages too...

I have my "museum copy" of all the DP Guides. You should see the first one! It's pretty funny, really. The old original issues of Digital Press' bi-monthly publication are pretty hilarious as well, and also starting to look like the declaration of independence. I've recently moved them to a cool dry area and sealed them up!
