What's the best and cheapest way to get atari commons. I use to run around and buy them for a buck each but the piles have dried up mainly due to me and my buddy buying everyone we have seen. Then I moved to buying lots but now with 200+ 2600 carts I'll end up with 15 new games and maybe some label variations and a big pile for the doubles shelf. Some how out of this I've failed to pick up haunted house and a few other real common things. I've missing like 6 out of the cx1 to 100 and most of them are commons. I hate to pay 5$ a pop for them thanks to shipping and I've done some trading commons for commons. So the question is how does everyone else get there atari commons?

I almost always see commons out by the flea markets in my area. I've also bought so many of them, I never see ones I don't already have. Check out craigs list and also any kind of want ads because I will sometimes see some commons in there. A lot of people find them at Goodwill also.

Post a buying thread here on DP. Put the list of everything you own and ask people to sell you games you dont have in lots.

I have a few 2600 commons available for trade and I collect label variations. You should put a list up of what you have and what you're looking for.

When you get your list typed up, we can exchange. I have a huge list of all my atari games, intellivision and odyssey games on one excel spread sheet. I can email if to you and we can exchange some games. let me know.

send your commons/doubles over to AA, VCS cartridge cases are badly needed for homebrews

I've got over 600 Atari 2600 games, so getting duplicates is nothing new to me. It's not uncommon for me to buy a lot of 20 games to get one unique cartridge :(. I usually give the dupes away to friends or dump them on ebay in large lots, but it seems that ebay is my only real avenue to get unique titles that I don't already own. When I started out collecting 2600, I'd hit the flea markets and buy out dealers' atari inventory at huge discounts mainly because they want the stuff to be gone most times. Hit the fleas and thrifts hard and often, that's my best advice.
