I'm using the RF cable that came with it and well the thing is pretty dirty and the system was refurbed at some point in its life. Anyway the picture is very fuzzy. I've bought some composite cables hopefully then picture will be perfect but if not what should I do? Can I clean the connectors etc with compressed air? Also would cleaning help or anything else help the RF setup?

Well, let us know how the composite cables work out for you. (remember, they'll work on the Sega Master System, too)

If not, another options is composite out through the 32x, but I understand that finding one of them with all needed cables functioning properly is difficult.

If you have an RGB capable TV, you could go that route...

Or, you could leave the original hardware behind, get a modded Xbox, install a Genny Emu on it and...well, you know the rest. (I've tried this, but it just isn't the same, you know?)

Personally, I think getting the composite cables (by composite, you mean the RCA yellow/white to the Genny's round connector right?) is your best choice unless you can complete your 32x. I'm playing Snatcher lately through the 32x's composite hookups (and the stereo headphone output of the model 1 base) and it looks and sounds terrific.

I don't know that cleaning the connectors would help any, but when I was trying to play it through the RF connectors I found that keeping the RF cord away from potential interference (such as electrical cords) helped a little bit, but certainly not as much as the composite cords.

If it's fuzzy with a known good working RF switch, and works fine once you get a composite cable, the ground connection for the RF socket is more than likely broken inside. Honestly though, it's hard to troubleshoot stuff until you've tested other options (such as composite).

Better to ditch RF and go composite, (or an Svideo mod) rather than waste time troubleshooting RF.
