View Full Version : Which N64/GBA Demos are different from the full games?

I've never seen a full list of which "not for resale" demo games had different ROMs inside than the full versions of the game. I know, for example, that the Minish Cap GBA and the Donkey Kong N64 carts are both different, but is there a list somewhere that lists all of the ones that differ from the release versions? Thanks!

This keeps being brought up...there are probably 3 threads already talking about this same topic.

I am not sure about anything not being the full version besides Minish Cap for GBA. But for N64 the only ones with different versions are DK64 and Zelda: Majora's Mask (Grey Label). The SNES has all full versions.

Oh an Turok for N64 with the white label is NOT the full version.

If I get time later I'll get the exacts but the excitebike 64 demo has a screen stating it is the demo version and I believe most of the tracks and mini-games are unlocked off the bat without the player having to earn them.

I found only one post discussing it, and the games that were mentioned were

Donkey Kong 64
Excite Bike 64
Minish Cap
Grey Zelda MM

I read somewhere that Pokemon Stadium was different from the retail release in some way as well, but I can't find the thread where that was brought up.

I stand corrected...Excite Bike is also a tad different. Not sure about Pokemon Stadium; man it has been a while since I went through all my demos to find out.

Here is a pic to enjoy at least:
