I've never heard em called handbills before. Always heard em called one sheets or promo flyers.

From my experience, handbill is the babelfishian translation from Japanese. I call them flyers too.

Actually handbill isn't the babelfish translation from Japanese. It does correctly translate chriashi to flyer, but these are also called handbills. The same way as if you went to a play or ballet or musical performance, they "hand"out "handbills" about the show/performance. Well, they "handed" these out to promote the games in Japan 20+ years ago.
