Ok, so I decided against getting a Disk System in favor of getting an NES/SNES combo that can play Super Famicom games.

I'm already considering getting MOTHER 2, but what else should I get? I would prefer if they required minimal Japanese skills, but I can deal with MOTHER2 because there are probably lots of translation guides.

Oh, and I would prefer if they were Japan-only.

I'm thinking of getting Parodius Da!, good choice?

Looking to buy a copy? (down at the bottom of my second post in that thread) (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119504) Great game. That Pretty Fighter game I have in there is a pretty decent fighter as well and is pristine.

It says I don't have the permission to access the page. :/

Thanks, but I already found a place I can buy it.

You have to be a board member for at least 10 days I believe, then you can get in to the buying and selling forums, either way - images here...

SFC - Parodius, boxed complete in good shape with minor crushing on edges of box. $30.00
SFC - Pretty Fighter, boxed complete in absolutely gem mint condition. $25.00

You'll find you may want to do more dealings here at Digital Press once the Buying and Selling threads open to you. Rarely will you find people as ready to ship with as high quality items at as reasonable prices. Also there's a whole community of feedback right here.

Thanks, I'll might get into buying and selling selling when I can.

But for now, I'm just going to look elsewhere.

Anything else you can recommend?

DoReMi Fantasy is my personal fave SFC-only game.

My site below has 50+ impressions on 'obscure' SFC games BTW

Realize this is a large bump, but I really want to start getting some new Super Famicom games and need new recommendations.

Choujikuu Yousai Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie - It's a great horizontal shooter, whether you're into Macross or not (I'm not myself).

Dragon Quest V
Dragon Quest VI - Maybe you'd prefer to wait for the DS remakes if they are indeed going to come out in the US, but, hey, it's Dragon Quest. Simple to play, plenty of guides online, and always fun.

Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo
Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 - The Super Famicom Fire Emblem games are among the best, and there are guides for all of 'em.

Ganbare Goemon: Kirakira Douchuu - Boku ga Dancer ni Natta Wake - You can add in Goemon 2 and 3 as well, but this one I recommend especially. The games have a minor amount of Japanese, but they're mostly just platforming goodness.

Marvelous: Mouhitotsu no Takarajima - Basically where Eiji Aonuma got his start. It's definitely inspired by A Link to the Past, but it's a whole 'nother animal. Some of the most genius puzzles I've ever seen in a game that are seemingly woven into the plot like no other game, and a some of the wackiest events ever in gaming from playing matchmaker to lovesick penguins and playing jankenpon with monkeys. You won't know what the hell you're doing without a guide, but it's so worthwhile relying on one to experience Marvelous.

Neugier: Umi to Kaze no Koudou - Really straightforward Zelda-style adventure game. Short but worth playing for a few hours.

Pop'n TwinBee - One of my favorite shooters, and probably the best of the TwinBee series.

Star Ocean - You could get the remake First Departure on PSP in English, but it's worth playing the original because it's so very different. Plenty of guides, and the battles are action-based anyway.

TwinBee: Rainbow Bell Adventure - This is a platformer spin-off to the main TwinBee shooter series, and it's every bit as good. It's a good example of a Sonic-style platformer done right on Super Famicom.

Wonder Project J - Like Marvelous, you'll need to rely on a guide, but it's so worth it. You basically raise a robot boy to be human, and the entire world and its cast are just so charming. I prefer the N64 sequel, but this is a good starting point.

Yeah, I really think I need to stay away from RPGs because I already have MOTHER 2 and have NO idea what to do, even with a guide.

I'll look into TwinBee, Ganbare Goemon, and Neugier.

Right now I'm really considering Rainbow Bell Adventure.

A SFC game I enjoy is Firemen.

Little unknown gem by Human Entertainment.

If you ever played and enjoyed Alien Crush or Devil's Crush, Jaki Crush might be worth looking into.

Wasn't the PAL version of Rainbow Bell Adventure different than the Japanese version?
I know the Japanese version has backup RAM support, and the Japanese version of the map would make it appear there's multiple paths (but I haven't played much).
I know the Japanese version has mid-stage dialouge that's not in the PAL version, but I don't suppose that would matter.

I have a short review on my site at Video Game Den (http://www.videogameden.com/sfc.htm?jac). It's rather short but you'll find screenshots there - if you enjoyed the PC Engine games (as I did), then Jaki is a winner :)
