Are all Atari joysticks semi-expensive or just on ebay? If not what is a great place to buy them?

I dont think atari joys are expensive. You can buy a "lot" on ebay for kinda cheap with joy sticks and games and stuff.

I may have a few extras, you interested?

The price does depend on condition and how well they work.

Genesis controllers are cheap, and compatible with the 2600.

Sega Master System controllers, although not as comfy as the Genesis controller, can do the job too.

I wouldn't buy used original joysticks via the Internet. There's no way of knowing how long before they'll start acting up. There are repair kits available on the web for cheap though.

If you type "new atari 2600 joystick" into ebay, you'll find many of these:

I've never purchased them, so I don't know whether they are any good.

Flashback 1 controllers are completely incompatible with the 2600, despite the fact they both use DB9 ports.
