I enjoy pinball over video games more if I could find more machines...

Pinball 2000 seems intriguing. Cool choices there!

Nice read, thanks for posting! Some random thoughts:

-Ann Margaret posing with the Wizard table is a future avatar consideration.
-Regarding the Pinball 2000 tables, I liked Star Wars: Episode 1 better than Revenge from Mars.
-Revenge from Mars is the only featured table in this article that I've played (I've gotta check out The Addams Family the next time I'm at Ground Kontrol (http://www.groundkontrol.com)).

Addams Family and Twilight Zone are bundles of bliss. I'd like to play them again someday. I've never seen Revenge From Mars, but we used to have a Star Wars Ep. 1 machine at my old science museum, and I thought it was a neat gimmick.

Awesome article, thanks for sharing.

I agree. Twilight Zone is the best pin I've played, bar none. I've even considered throwing down the sick amount of money it'd take to buy one, but the fear of constant breakdowns has scared me off. I've also played the Addams Family and Revenge from Mars and they are both quite good... but nothing beat the TZ for fun factor, imo.

I also considered buying a Star Trek: The Next Generation machine. I've played that one before as well, and it's great. Extremely deep ruleset... the kind of machine that would take a long time to master.

I used to play Revenge from Mars all the time in college. It was pretty fun. I would think though that Popular Mechanics would know better than to call reflecting a monitor off a sheet of glass "projected holographic targets". It's still a cool effect though. I loved it when the ball would hit the cartoon alien and he'd splatter.

Gotta love pinball! Only one arcade in my area has any machines though (and only about five) wish I could afford to buy one (or better yet a few!)

Twilight Zone made the list!!!!!

Best. Pinball. Machine. Ever.

Kinda weird Baby Pac-Man didn't make the list, for first video game/pinball hybrid.

I'm surprised that Hyperball (http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?gid=3169) didn't make the list.

I remember TZ. The arcade I frequented had that pinball's volume CRANKED. When somebody got to rocking that machine, the entire arcade knew it.

I love Pinball, but there are barely any good machines around here.

I guess Pinball on the NES will have to suffice.

Ive been working my Ass off to gather enough money. I almost had the money until I heard about the crashing and the maintnance and shit. So i decided not to. I wasted 300 dollars of those 3450 on a kindle. I am really happy with my Kindle.

I'm surprised they didnt list the 1st Pinball with speech: Gorgar and soon after Black Knight. Twilight Zone is Very Good but I like a few better. Addams Family ROCKS!!! I really dont Like Star Trek ( not enough open field ). Kinda Cramped like Indiana Jones which I really dont like either. Mike : )

What about Whirlwind? That one was really cool! (literally!) It had a spinning disc in the middle of the playfield that would fuck with the ball bigtime when it was activated, and it had a couple of fans that would blow cool air on you too!
