Was just at Walmart and picked up the following brand new:

Hyperscan system w/X-men game - $20.00
Hyperscan controller - $4.00
Game - Interstellar Wrestling League - $4.00
Game - Ben 10 - $4.00
Booster pack - Ben 10 - .50

All were on clearance. There were tons of Ben 10 games and booster packs but there were only 1 of the system itself and 1 copy if the wrestling game. I only bought it because it cost me like $30 bucks and I have never seen one before.

Good deal?

Umm... If you'd plugged it in and played the system, you'd already know the answer to that is a resounding NO.

I've been sorta interested in the system just from a collector's standpoint, but I'm not willing to pay more than $10 for the entire collection.

I actually bought it just to simply collect it. I was even hesitating on opening it because of the bad reviews. I thought $30 for all of that wasnt bad but now it sounds like I should have waiting another month til the system dropped to $10. WoW!

Yeah that's way too much to spend on that stuff, even from a collector's standpoint.

Hope you saved your receipt !!! You can probably return the system & games (even if they're opened), the only thing you'd be stuck with is the booster pack if it's opened. They are considered "toy" items instead of "electronics" items, so you shouldn't get too much grief from the person at the service desk when you return it, as opposed to returning an opened XBOX 360 game, for example.

Although it's not as bad as the abysmal "R-Zone" from Tiger Electronics, it's gotta rank a close second.

I think I bought almost the entire collection (missing Marvel Heroes and a couple different booster packs) for about $60. I don't think you got too bad of a deal but, then again, I tend to collect a bunch of systems that others constantly rag on (Commodore Vic-20 represent).

Ya, everything is still sealed and unopen. I kept the receipt as well hoping that if I saw it drop to 10 bucks I could return mine and purchase the one for 10 bucks. I am in no way hurting for the $30, I was just concerned that I would pass on this deal and 5 years later be kicking myself for not buying it simply for collecting. I just bought an N Gage the other day and definetly paid more than I would have if I would have just bought one a few years ago when no one wanted them and they were practically giving the games away with just buying a system. (Around here they were giving away 3 new games with a purchase of a system).

How much they going for at the thrifts? I am thinking about keeping the games and returning the system and waiting for a thrift find for 5-10 bucks.

Circuitcity.com had them for $7 each with free shipping on an order of $20 or $25 (can't remember). I bought a few of them and had them shipped for free. $20 was to much for it in my opinion. You can always find it cheaper.
