Alright, from your friends at Screwattack they are doing a top 20 for the Genesis. Here is 20-11

I think there are some surprises on this list already however the top 10...might be stock. What do you think?

#20 is a pleasant surprise. I love that game. I'm not even sure if I'd put it in my own top 20 list, but it's nice to see it get recognition. 19 is dumb, though, 16 sucks, and 11 doesn't deserve to be anywhere near this list.

#17. Best title on this list, but the sequel is slightly better on all accounts and I would have had it on the list instead.
#16. It is indeed one of the games that defines the console, but quality-wise it doesn't belong here.

#11. This game is just silly crap, and it is sad that the Mega Drive is remembered for having a poor fighting game with blood that caused some idiotic controversy. I wouldn't have this on my top 100.

We played Out of this World at the last SJC and the general consensus was it was an awful game.

Mortal Kombat may not seem like much now but when it came out it was the bee's knees.

I think its right that Mortal Kombat is on the list. As someone said already, right now compared to games like Soul Calibur and DOA...ect...Mortal Kombat can't compete.

You gotta look at it like there is no new system after the Genesis and SNES. that these are the new games and if you see it like that, then you should see that MK deserves to be on the list. This is something you never seen on a home console before.

funny, I like ScrewAttack but I knew it'd be rough when I heard they brought in others to help. SA does have a nintendo bias, if only because that's what they seem to have played a lot. I thought their snes list was well done... but that's because it was just them doing it.

Sometimes they do stumble on their own though... their top reasons to/not to trade in your wii was god awful.

How do you know, it might be on #1 when the 10-1 video comes in a few weeks? I don't think it will be #1 though, since Stuttering Craig said Strider was the best Genesis game once, IIRC. Yep, another port that has another better home version.

Somehow I doubt it'll be #1 ... and as much as I enjoy it, I'm not sure it'll make it into the top 10.

Personally I'd probably rate it in the lower half of a top 20.

This seems an odd couple of sentences. Mortal Kombat gets a pass because of when it came out, but Out of this World doesn't?

Yes, it is extremely annoying, impossible for me to sit through. I made it through #19, but only because I really like TMNT:HH.

I'm not giving MK a "pass", I think it's good. IMO Out of this World sucked then, sucks now, and will suck just as much in another 15 years.

It's a good "1.5" treatment of the game with some interesting FMV segments and enhanced audio ... but you have to like the game's controls/pace/art style already. It's certainly not going to win anybody over who doesn't like it to begin with.

Gleylancer I'd replace with something else...maybe Fire Shark, as that's a decent game.
