Lynx
Game Gear
Game.com (Yeah, it sucked, but I thought I'd throw it in anyways for fun)
Neo-Geo Pocket Color
N-Gage
Gizmondo
DS
PSP

I was inspired by this thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120306). List only ONE game for each system, and feel free to explain why the game is your favorite if you'd like. You can skip any of the systems you haven't played anything on.

Here's my answers (skipping the Lynx, Game.com, and Gizmondo as I haven't played them):

Game Gear: Sonic Chaos
NGPC: Metal Slug 2nd Mission
DS: New Super Mario Bros.
PSP: GTA: Vice City Stories

well i'll start with a system you didn't list

N-Gage: Pathway to Glory (a great game as was its sequel and i found myself playing it whenever i had a free moment)
Lynx: Rampart (maybe not the best version of the game but my favorite and most played game for the system)
Game Gear: Mortal Kombat (again the best way to gage my favorite games for system is as time spent with them. probably played this more than anything else)
Neo Geo Pocket: SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium (great game)
DS: Professor Layton and the Curious Village (one of my favorite games now)

Lynx: STUN Runner is incredibly fun and also so impressive to see in action that I have to give it the nod instead.

Game Gear: I'd say that GG Shinobi 2 is the best original Game Gear game (not counting SMS ports) with the first one not far behind.

Game.com: I've never played a Game.com

Neo Geo Pocket: Ganbare Neo Poke-kun is definitely my favorite. It's an absolute classic that seriously redefined the way I think about video games.

N-Gage: Never played

Gizmondo: Likewise

Nintendo DS: Right now I'm going to say Soul Bubbles. It's kind of new, so we'll have to see if it holds up as well in a couple years. I think it will.

PSP: Never played it.

Whoops - I thought there was another one I wanted to add, but the N-Gage never came to mind (yet I remembered the Gizmondo - go figure). classicb, thanks for mentioning it, it's been added to the original post. No N-Gage favorite from me though - all I've played of it was about two minutes of Pandemonium on a kiosk at an EB.

The Game Gear Mortal Kombat was pretty fun, and it's one of my favorite GG games. I recently acquired MK II at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo last weekend, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet. Hopefully it's just as good, if not better.

NGPC Card Fighters Fo Sho!
DS A tie between Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Contra 4
PSP A tie between Lumines II and God of War
Game Gear Dammit, what was the Game Gear port of Adventure Island called? Something's Revenge? The cart label had a grumpy faced volcano on it? Yeah, that game, whatever it was called.
LynxI've only played a Lynx once, and I think it was a Gauntlet game.
N-Gage I've never played an N-Gage.
Gizmondo I've never even seen a Gizmondo.

I got curious and looked it up, and it's called Revenge of Drancon.

Lynx - Xenophobe. No contest.
Game.com - Eh, Duke Nukem (sort-of-) 3D was pretty playable.
Ngage - Mmm, I'll go with Colin McRae 2005. I spent many hours with that.

And it's a port of Wonder Boy, not "Adventure Island." Get it straight!

If we want to count SMS ports for the Game Gear, then the correct answer has to be Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap.

Game Gear- original Sonic
Game.com- Henry-simple memory game that worked well with the touch screen.
Neo-Geo Pocket Color- The Last Blade, the feel of the Neo Geo game on the go.
DS-Geometry Wars: Galaxies, good retro gaming in a modern game.

I know that it was not listed but,
Swan Crystal-One Piece: SwanColosseum, fun comical 2D fighter that captured a little of the anime's humor.

NGPC - Lots of very high quality games, and it's hard to choose between MotM, Last Blade and the two Card Fighters games as the absolute best for the system. I think I'll go for SNK vs. Capcom: MotM as it really is absolutely awesome.

Game Gear - Not had a chance to sample as much of the GG library as I'd have liked. Sonic Chaos is very good, but both of the GG Shinobi games are top quality.

PSP - Not got one yet, but I can definitely see me getting one very soon. Portable Guilty Gear and Zero 3 Upper (Upper?) FTW.

DS - I've not actually had much of a chance to fiddle with one. I had a 5 minute crack on New SMB which was cool, but that's about it.
