I've got a GBA SP that thinks that the start button is the select button when a GBC game inserted. It works fine with GBA games, but I've tried several GBC games and it always thinks what I said above. Anyone know what's going on? I've tried cleaning both the cart and the contacts on the GBA SP.

does the select function as the start? lol if so, then its not really a problem...

Perhaps there's a solder bridge somewhere on the GBC hardware. I think the GBC hardware was smooshed into the GBA, and if the GBC processor addresses the select and start lines directly, there may be something crossing over. If you no longer have a Nintendo warranty for the thing, you may want to look under the hood and see what you can find.
