I was sooo close to hitting submit on purchasing the Amazon exclusive Fallout 3 bundle (http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-Amazon-com-Exclusive-Survival-Xbox-360/dp/B0017QL8XE/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1218653583&sr=8-2), when I realized I might not like the game...

I'm not a big fan of RPGs - basically any game that has to do with 'leveling up' doesn't interest me. I forced myself to play Oblivion when it came out because of all the 'hoopla' - and I made it about 10 hours into the game. I liked it, but I wasn't compelled to go any further. I got stuck at a point that I couldn't get past, and just gave up on it.

The trailers and E3 footage for Fallout 3 look like it's a bit different than Oblivion and a typical RPG - but I could be wrong.

I've become a sucker for Collector's Editions and this one looks amazing. But I'm not sure if I want to spend $130 on a game I won't play... ;-)

Nope, I guarantee you will not like it. How do I know this? Because that short write-up you provided enabled me to know everything about you.

Sorry, I couldn't help it. Seriously though, I wouldn't buy it if I were you. Rent it, and if you dig it then push the button on the CE. It sounds like it might not be your cup of tea.

Play Fallout 1 and/or 2 and then come to your own decision. Chances are if you like the past games, you'll more than likely like it's sequel.

Only fallout game ive played is tactics, but his game looks pretty cool. I'd say check out a demo or if there isn't one do what i do, Try before you buy (aka piracy), if you like the game buy it. Theres nothing like having a legit copy and not having to hassle yourself with large cd images, cracks, keygens, updates, cracks for the updates, lack of online play. But piracy is a great way to sample pc games before you buy them.
